During large fires and other significant events, units get shuffled around to better cover the county. Due to today’s commercial fire in the Town of Vienna, Engine 413B was moved down the road to Vienna Volunteer Fire Department to backfill. Always glad to add a little yellow to the red!

No mouth-to-mouth is required, just simple, effective chest compressions. These skills are perfect for everyone in our community.

Last night was a bittersweet one for our volunteer family! After many years of keeping our bingo kitchen running smoothly, Tammy served her last dinner to our staff and patrons on Saturday.

Tammy, we cannot thank you enough for your dedication, your hard work, and the countless meals you’ve put out with a smile. You’ve been the heart of our kitchen, and it shows in every Saturday night we’ve shared together.

While you absolutely deserve all the rest and relaxation coming your way, just know you’re going to leave a big hole in our hearts — and our kitchen! Lucky for us, we hear you’ll be popping in for cameos now and then. 😊

Please join us in thanking Tammy for her incredible years of kitchen service. We are so grateful for everything you’ve done for our community!

Yesterday, Dunn Loring Captain Maria Monroy-Osorio and Fire Chief Shawn Stokes were recognized by Fairfax County Fire and Rescue and the Virginia Department of Fire Programs for their support of the Potomac River Mid Air Collision in January 2025. Both staffed our Rehabilitation Unit that was sent to the airport to allow first responders to get out of the cold weather that night.
