The IACC is an apolitical, non-religious, non-profit community center serving Iranian-Americans in the greater D.C. Beginning as a "virtual" site, the Center organizes social fundraising events to help increase awareness and its membership base. We recognize that many well intentioned IA organizations have attempted to bring the IA community closer in the past with mixed results. The most signific

Art can change the way we see the world. But sometimes, seeing is just the beginning.
Join us for a virtual presentation with Lisa Renee Jennings, CBF's Hampton Roads Outreach & Advocacy Manager. Lisa will introduce us to the Chesapeake Bay watershed, explore the challenges facing the Bay, and share how Virginia communities can become advocates for a healthier Chesapeake. She will also discuss what each of us can do personally to help protect this vital ecosystem.

We’re pleased to invite you to a special conversation and book signing with Mahmood Karimi Hakak, led by Termeh Rassi

Join acclaimed poet, playwright, translator, and theater director Mahmood Karimi Hakak for an engaging evening of conversation and book signing as he discusses his memoir, Shakespeare in Tehran. Blending personal reflection with history, the book offers a moving account of exile, identity, family, and the enduring power of art during one of Iran’s most transformative periods.

Through stories drawn from his life and career, Karimi Hakak reflects on his experiences navigating Iran’s cultural and academic landscape before and after the Revolution, sharing the challenges, hopes, and resilience that shaped both his artistic journey and his understanding of home. Shakespeare in Tehran provides a rare and deeply human perspective on Iran in the 1990s while celebrating the role of literature and theater in preserving memory and inspiring dialogue.

Copies of Shakespeare in Tehran will be available for purchase and signing at Pars Place on the day of the event. Refreshments will be provided by IACC.
