In the June meeting on Thursday June 18th we will be addressing the bylaw change to go to one meeting a month from June forward on a permanent basis.

Today is the first Tuesday evening meal for The Month Of June already.

When you stop by this evening to get your salad, chicken leg quarter, baked potato dinner with a dessert, take a look around the building and grounds as you arrive and depart.

You'll see that the building ,grounds , driveway and parking lot are looking quite nice.

This was because several volunteers showed up on Sunday May 31st and donated selflessly of their equipment and most importantly their labor and time.

On Saturday evening May 30th The Dunkirk Elks Lodge held the Annual Elks Lodge Awards Banquet Ceremony.

It was a truly spectacular evening.

The evening meal was provided entirely by volunteers and was very tasty indeed!

The volunteer spirit that provided the meal was something that ran as a thread throughout the entire evening's event.

If it was mentioned once it was mentioned several dozen times at least if not more.

The spirit of volunteerism is what drives everything we aspire to as Elks.

Our Award Winning Exalted Ruler made this point many times in the various awards, certificates and commendations that she read aloud as she awarded them

The Elks is getting a facelift. There’s a lot of outside work to be done. We are planning on trimming bushes, cleaning the gutters and striping out the parking lot.We are also going to make the lower parking lot available again. If you are available to come help, we would sure appreciate it.
We are planning on starting work Sunday May 31 about 1030 and probably work till early afternoon. If you’re not able to do any of the physical labor, I’m sure anybody working would appreciate a sandwich a drink or some snacks.
The more members we get to help the quicker it will be done.
This is in preparation for our homecoming celebration on June 13.
