About National Aphasia Synergy

National Aphasia Synergy is a nonprofit organization that promotes an aphasia community led by peers. Our strength is sharing the stories of successes and challenges. This is life participation at its core!

52% of people with aphasia develop depression

44% of people with aphasia have anxiety

Synergy was developed to help support people with aphasia. We can best

serve those with similar needs by networking local aphasia groups and individuals with aphasia in order to share ideas, resources, and support in a central place. NAS Mission Statement

NAS is a peer-led community of people with aphasia driven to:

• educate people with aphasia (PWA)

• empower PWA to use technology to improve communication skills

• promote peer-befriending with new or struggling PWA

• develop a national PWA community

• encourage optimism and a positive outlook in PWA

NAS Vision Statement

Our vision is that one day, the population of the United States will have a greater understanding of aphasia, and as a result, all people with aphasia will be treated with respect and kindness. Synergy will be a national community serving people with aphasia to end the isolation. Soon, our website is intended to be a rich source for people with aphasia. Our plan is for people with aphasia to help other people with aphasia thrive. Synergy will offer people with aphasia:

• strategies

• tips and tools

• stories about PWA and an opportunity to share stories

• discussions and chats

• verified resources for PWA

• links to newspapers and other media across the nation

We need you to help us grow. Every little bit will help us to provide a strong online presence for the aphasia community. National Aphasia Synergy Inc is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization (Tax ID 87-3330394). Contributions are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law and do not represent payment for goods or services received.

Mindfulness isn’t just about being present in the moment. It’s also about how we relate to our past and future.

✨ Mindful living means:
• Honoring what brought you here
• Releasing what you’ve outgrown
• Living each day fully
• Embracing new opportunities
• Seeking out new experiences
• Assuming positive intent

⚠️ Unconscious living can look like:
• Repeating old patterns
• Clinging to the past
• Resenting your upbringing
• Resisting change
• Fearing aging
• Constantly expecting the worst

The difference isn’t what has happened to you or what might happen next. It’s whether you choose to engage with life consciously.

Pause for a moment and reflect:
Which mindset are you bringing into today? 💭

I’m Joanie, one of the admin team.

Creators using podcasts, TikToks, Insta & YouTube to raise aphasia awareness —

Imagine if we could all download the same free resources worldwide and share our message together.

I’m a creator too → YouTube: symphuk
My daughter and I are both stroke survivors and Sarah has aphasia.

PLEASE help to hit the JustGiving target by the end of June and The Tavistock Trust for Aphasia will match it.

Together, we can start making this dream a reality.

Opportunity often appears after you begin moving.
Action opens doors that waiting never will.
You do not need every answer to take the next step.
What action are you taking today?

A quick snooze might be just the thing to get you out of that afternoon slump. For most of us, a 20-30 minute nap improves mood and boosts energy without interfering with nighttime sleep.
