On June 11, the Duncanville Arts Commission and the Duncanville Community and Economic Development Corporation hosted an Arts and Business Mixer at the Olden Year Museum. The enigmatic Museum is home to a singular collection of mechanical musical instruments, kinetic entertainment devices, and early sound and optical technologies assembled over several decades by the late Duncanville businessman Homer DeFord.

We asked Xela Bistro to give our artists the VIP menu; they understood the assignment.

[ The Black Pearl ]

Buttery brioche filled with a creamy ricotta and mozzarella blend, layered with crisp English cucumbers and our house cilantro crema. Finished with ribbons of smoked salmon and crowned with black tobiko pearls for a luxurious bite from sea to story.

[ The Donut Disturbance ]

Tiny beef sliders tucked between vanilla mini donuts, layered with whipped feta-red pepper spread, garlic aioli, and fresh arugula.

[ Banana Drama ]

Warm vanilla-cinnamon donuts topped with dulce de leche cream, sweet banana coins, caramel ribbons, and powdered sugar. A delicious plot twist in every bite.

[ The Noble Chapter ]

Golden brioche dressed with pesto, a quail egg, and black tobiko.

[ Chocolate Confidential ]

Creamy chocolate cheesecake nestled into a bite-sized treat and drizzled with decadent chocolate.

[ The Cherry Epilogue ]

Golden phyllo shells filled with tart cherry compote and finished with vanilla chantilly cream.
