After joining the AARP Network of Age-Friendly States and Communities in October of 2021, the Duluth Age-Friendly initiative is still going strong!

Lifelong learning is central to that vision. Because when we all have opportunities to keep growing and connecting at every stage, we're more likely to remain healthy, socially engaged, and active contributors to our community.

Join us as we celebrate and spotlight the amazing real people, partners, and possibilities that help community members continue learning at every age and stage of life across Duluth

There are AMAZING lifelong learning opportunities right here in the Northland, and they’re a big part of what helps make our community so resilient, connected, and age-friendly.

Stay tuned as we introduce you to upcoming learning events—and the committed age-friendly partners working alongside us to make Duluth a better place to learn and live for all ages.

To all our fellow “students of life,” keep your eyes on this page for new ways to plug in and LONG LIVE LEARNING!

We talk a lot about AGING around here.

Not as something to lose, fear, or resist, but as something to embrace fully, boldly, and with strength.

Because we're all AGING and there's beauty in what still lies ahead.

Calling all family caregivers!

A new proposal in Congress could help ease some of the financial strain that often comes with caregiving.

If passed, it would allow caregivers to use tax-free flexible spending accounts (FSAs) or health savings accounts (HSAs) to cover a parent’s or parent-in-law’s medical expenses—an important step toward recognizing and supporting the care so many provide every day.

As part of our People Behind Our Purpose series, we’re excited to introduce you to Lisa, who has played a key role in strengthening our community impact through visual storytelling.

With a keen eye for design and a genuine passion for human connection, Lisa understands that visual communication can build trust, strengthen engagement, and deeply move people.

When asked about her favorite part of growing older, Lisa shared: "All the life lessons and experiences I can draw from. Confidence in knowing who YOU are. Aging is a privilege, and feeling more comfortable in your own skin is an invaluable gift."
