Winter is coming, and with it, a need for ski coaches, level 1 & 2! ❄

With a growing need in our community for adult ski lessons, comes a job posting for a new level 1 & 2 ski coach instructor.

This coach will lead weekly adult lessons for either beginner or intermediate skiers, focused on improving fundamental and intermediate skills in either classic or skate skiing, depending on the session. Instruction may include balance and weight transfer, body position, efficient propulsion, kick and glide, poling technique, cornering, stopping, turning, climbing, descending, pacing, and skiing with greater efficiency and control.

DXC is excited to offer cross-country ski classes for adults once more in 2027. We will be offering ski programs for both classic and skate skiing.

We are also excited to welcome Karen Manske to our coaching team! She will be leading level 1 classes this winter, and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the snow.

Are you targeting a specific race this season, and hoping to make skiing a part of your weekly routine this winter? The Birkie / Korte Training Group is designed to help skiers build strength, fitness, and community throughout the winter.

Structured interval based workouts, progressive programming, group technique coaching, and new friends are included in the program.

Monday Funday Hikes are back!!. Join DXC for a hike (starting at 6:00 pm), approximately 45 minutes-1 hour long, to explore our ski trails for the coming winter. Meet at the Lester Amity Chalet for our first hike on October 12th.

Join us for weekly hill bounding with ski poles under the lights at the Chester Bowl ski hill, starting Wednesday October 7th, at 6 pm!!! A more intense session for those looking for dryland, hill repeats. This is open to anybody looking for a session of repeats on the steep hill.

There's no coaching, but there are usually some smart, experienced people if you're looking to try this workout and have some questions.

Gear: Classic length ski poles and maybe a headlamp for getting to and from the lit trail at the bottom of the lift across from the Chester Bowl Chalet.

Lights will be on from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM.

According to city policy, dogs are allowed at this event, but must be on leash.

Double polling for attention, but actually heads up that this week is the last chance to order your race suit!

We received a number of Google form orders over the summer, however, quite a few of you folks still need to go on the Borah team website, and officially get your suit order locked in for the 2027 season

Yoga is back this Sunday with Phoebe!

Dates: Sunday October 4th and 18th.
Time: 6-7 pm
Location: Lester Amity Chalet

Description: Join us for Community Yoga at The Chalet. This class is for all levels of experience. A fun and chill way to try something new, and practice in the community. Bring your mat and your friends. Let’s move together!

Duluth trail organizations gathered at the Hartley Nature Center on Tuesday, September 22 to celebrate the changing seasons and their shared commitment to outdoor trails.
