Day 1 of Wayne County 4-H’s summer day camp, 4-H Acts It Out, is complete! 🎭

Campers spent the day developing communication skills, building confidence, and learning the basics of performance through interactive activities and team-building exercises.

We’re excited for two more days of creativity, leadership, and fun!

What a way to wrap up our Market Makers Summer Camp! 🎉 Today was our final day, and our campers brought their creativity, teamwork, and skills to the table for the Live Demo Competition—and the turnout was incredible!

A huge congratulations to all of our campers for the hard work, growth, and confidence they’ve shown throughout camp. We’re so proud of each of you! 👏

And a special shoutout to Team 3 for taking home the win in today’s competition! 🏆

👩‍🍳🌽 Day 1 of our brand-new 4-H Summer Day Camp, Market Makers, was a success!

Campers started the day by choosing a recipe and creating an ingredient list. Then, they visited the Farm Credit Farmers Market to shop for the fresh, local ingredients they needed. Along the way, they had the opportunity to meet local farmers and learn more about where their food comes from.

Back in the kitchen, campers practiced food safety, knife skills, and basic cooking techniques as they worked together to prepare for tomorrow's Grand Finale Showcase. Through teamwork and collaboration, they're gaining valuable culinary and leadership skills while having fun along the way! 👩‍🍳🌽🍅

We're excited to see all of their hard work come together tomorrow during their live food demonstration. Stay tuned! 🌟

Today’s 4-H Summer Day Camp was all about Babysitting 101 🧸💚

Campers spent the day learning important babysitting and safety skills, building confidence, and having fun through hands-on activities and teamwork. We are so proud of all the learning, laughter, and leadership happening this summer! ☀️✨

🎣☀️ And just like that… 4-H Summer Day Camps are officially underway!

Today, we kicked off camp season with “Hooked on Fishin’” and had an amazing first day full of fun, learning, laughter, and lots of memories made by the water. 🐟💚

Members of the Wayne County 4-H Livestock Skillathon and Quiz Bowl teams recently toured the NC State College of Veterinary Medicine’s working farm. The visit provided an educational look at farm operations and the daily routines of the animals living there.

Last call for Dairy Project registration!

This is a great project where youth learn to care for and show Jersey heifers. No experience needed, heifers are housed at Cherry Research Farm, so this is a good fit for those who may not have space for animals at home. Registration closes Thursday, May 14.
