Join SCADP and Robert Dunham, capital appeals lawyer and Death Penalty Policy Project director, for a teach-in to explore this relationship--and what it means for both the labor movement and the movement to end the death penalty.

Upstate folks: join SCADP as we support the unveiling of the final historical marker with the Greenville County Community Remembrance Project!

The unveiling will take place on the grounds of John Wesley United Methodist Church, the oldest historically Black United Methodist Church in Greenville. The marker will honor Ira Johnson and Robert Williams--two victims of racial terror lynchings in Greenville County.

Are you big fans of Justice 360 just like we are? Have you registered for their End of Year Celebration? If not, you should! 🎉

On October 29th, Justice 360 will be hosting a celebration of their accomplishments at Steel Hands Brewing in Cayce. Admission is free. However, donations are greatly appreciated! For your enjoyment, they will have an oyster roast, open bar, and silent auction.

Did we mention this event is dog friendly?

We are so grateful for all the work Justice 360 does with us to reform policies and practices in capital and juvenile life without parole proceedings!

Today is October 21--the birthday of George Stinney, Jr. He was born in 1929--the same year as Martin Luther King, Jr. and Anne Frank.

At age 14, George Stinney, Jr. is the youngest person to be executed in the 20th century.

He was arrested, tried, convicted, and executed by electric chair within 83 days.

An all-white jury deliberated for 10 minutes before convicting him of the r**e and murder of two young while girls.

In 2014, a judge vacated his murder conviction because of the lack of evidence.

Today we honor his humanity, along with so many other children's futures cut short by our capital punishment system.
