Thanks to your generosity, we were able to feed the pets of *36* Douglas County families this past Saturday, July 18; however, as you can see, the Pet Pantry is empty - again. 😔

Families need help and we are struggling every two weeks to provide the food needed to help them keep their pets with them: not abandon them, not dump them - or worse.

Every dollar helps us buy more food. Every share brings attention to the need. Every donation of dry or canned dog or cat food (drop off at the shelter) saves lives.

Will you help? Another Pet Pantry comes around on August 1 and we don't want to turn Douglas County residents away.

This Memorial Day, we pause to remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

At the Humane Society, we are also reminded of the loyal animals who have served beside us, comforted us, protected us, and brought hope in difficult times.

Today, we honor sacrifice, cherish freedom, and give thanks for the compassion that connects us all — people and animals alike.

Wishing our community a safe and meaningful Memorial Day.
