Social starts around 6:00pm with supper around 7:00pm.

🎻 8th Annual Jerry "Jughaid" Rogers Pickin' For The Kids 🎻

There are some events that become traditions.

Then there are events that become part of who you are.

On Saturday, July 27th, Sweetwater Shrine Club is honored to host the 8th Annual Jerry "Jughaid" Rogers Pickin' For The Kids, a day dedicated to great music, great people, and a great cause.

This event is named in honor of Jerry "Jughaid" Rogers, a beloved Sweetwater member, friend, and incredible musician whose love for Bluegrass, Gospel music, and helping others left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him. Each year we gather to celebrate his memory the best way we know how: through music, fellowship, and service to others.

From 12 PM until 8 PM, you'll enjoy a full day of outstanding Bluegrass and Gospel performances from talented musicians and bands who generously donate their time and talents to help raise money for Shriners Children's. Every dollar raised helps support the life-changing care that Shriners Children's provides to kids and families every day.

And if all that music works up an appetite, we've got you covered!

Last night was our annual Low Country Boil at the circus. Heaps of corn, andouille sausage, shrimp, potatoes, and onions. Had about 50 people at the compound and everyone really enjoyed themselves.

Tomorrow morning is circus move in day! It's a big event and we need all Sweetwater members to help load up, transport, and setup our awesome compound.

Our Noble Prez Terry Butterworth is providing breakfast for the workers. If you want a biscuit, please respond so we have enough.

Meet at the Club at 8am, have a biscuit, load up, and head to the fairgrounds. Ron and Roger took the club trailer today to get a head start on everything.

From Linda Mitchell on the passing of JD's mom, Dot Mitchell last Monday:

"A very sad time for the Mitchell family as Dot Mitchell, JD’s mom, passed away on Monday! She turned 95 on April 1st! Many of you knew her as she has been at several Shrine events and other outings throughout the years! It was such a delight to be with her and loved by all who knew her! We are blessed to have had her for so many years, but we know she is in Heaven and happy to be reunited with so many of her loved ones!

She was a fantastic lady and a sweet lady and Mother-in-law!🥰🥰🥰. Please keep the Mitchell family in your thoughts and prayers! ❤️🙏🫂"
