DGF POST 397 WRAPS UP 2026 SEASON
The 2026 edition of American Legion Post 397 Baseball concluded with an end-of-season banquet Tuesday night at Bob Marshall Field. Thank you to all of our SR & JR Legion players and their families for attending!
There were 21 Legion aged players participating and 6 Babe Ruth players who participated on the JR Legion on a part-time basis. The SR & JR teams played 72 games between the two teams. The SR team finished the season (25-12) and won the West MN Lakes Conference Championship with a (5-1) record. The SR team placed second in the South Pod Tournament and lost to Roseau 5-4 in the first round of the NW Sub State Tournament. The JR team finished (18-17) overall and was 3rd place in the Red River Conference with an (8-6) record. The JR team finished 4th place in the JR NW Sub State Tournament losing to Bagley JR 9-0 in the final game.
The Post 397 teams were able to attend 4 regular season tournaments which included the Essentia Health Tournament for both teams. The SR team went to the Battle of Omaha and the JR team went to the Starbuck/Minnewaska JR Tournament. DGF played host to the "Day of Baseball", honored the 2006 State Tournament team with a 20-year reunion and hosted an 8-team JR NW Sub State Tournament. It was an action packed summer of baseball for Post 397.
The players participating in Post 397 baseball this season were: Ben Ueland, Camden Schreiber, Wes Lundberg, Alex Anderson, Wes Hoover, Drew Martin, Luke Krueger, Eli Clemenson, Cayson Bergee, Josh Berg, Isaac Leiran, Trey Knakmuhs, Brennan Kilde, Marshal Hieb, Tate Bergeson, Ian Halverson, Ty Hieb, CJ Mousseau, Ben Backes, Brad Surerus, Carter Mosher, Miles Miller, Jack Seidler, Matthew Eilertson, Cole Nelson, Zander Deutsch, Charley Olson and Zachary Nundahl. The coaches were: Al Krueger, Jesse Rostad, Bryce Krueger and Dylan Anderson.
