🚂 Help Us Plan Loco Daze 2027! 🚂

Another Loco Daze has come to an end, and we are incredibly thankful for everyone who helped make this year’s celebration possible! As we begin looking ahead to 2027, we would love to welcome some new people, fresh ideas, and additional helping hands.

We are seeking both committee members and event volunteers. Whether you would like to help plan throughout the year or only assist with a specific event during Loco Daze, there is a place for you!

You could help with:
🎉 Planning or coordinating an event
📞 Connecting with businesses, sponsors, or entertainers
📱 Advertising and social media
🙋 Volunteering during Loco Daze weekend
💡 Sharing new ideas for the celebration

You do not need previous event-planning experience—just an interest in helping our community continue this great Dilworth tradition!

🚂 THANK YOU FROM LOCO DAZE 2026!❤️

As Loco Daze 2026 comes to a close, we want to recognize the incredible people who worked behind the scenes to make this year’s celebration possible. We know you don’t do any of this for a Facebook shoutout, but all the time, effort and heart you put into Loco Daze absolutely deserve one! ❤️

Months of planning go into bringing Loco Daze to life. From organizing events and contacting sponsors to creating schedules, answering questions, setting up, cleaning up and handling countless last-minute details, this committee gave so much of its time to our community.

We also want to sincerely thank the families of those committee members that help out during the days of Loco Daze! Stepping up with last minute items and everything else that needed to be done. Their support and willingness to jump in were an important part of making the weekend happen.

We are extremely grateful to the City of Dilworth staff, maintenance crew and Dilworth Police Department for the many ways they supported Loco Daze before, during and after the celebration.

A special thank-you also goes to Rick Halvorson and Mike Atanasio from the Rail District for all of their help throughout the weekend. Your time and support and willingness to help with whatever was needed were truly appreciated.

Loco Daze takes an incredible amount of teamwork, and we could not do it without people who care about this community and are willing to give their time and energy to make it special.

❤️ Meet Our 2026 Loco Daze Grand Marshal – Cole Houska ❤️

This year, we were incredibly honored to have Cole Houska serve as the Grand Marshal of the Loco Daze Parade.

Cole’s mom Kayla says, “This is my son Cole Houska who was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma in 2023. At the age of two and a half he did 6 rounds of chemotherapy and 3 rounds of stem cell transplant. Cole was inpatient for a little over 6 months. He endured so much during that time. Harsh treatments, constant needle pokes, and numerous surgeries. We then got to celebrate remission for a year and a half. Unfortunately, Cole recently relapsed in October 2025 at the age of 5 and underwent 6 weeks of radiation and chemotherapy in Rochester at Mayo Clinic. Cole now continues a maintenance chemo regimen at Roger Maris every other Tuesday. Through out this whole process Cole continues to smile, laugh, and play. He loves telling stories which is usually about trucks, trailers, or hunting big bucks. He is my hero and he absolutely amazes me every minute of every single day.”

Cole, thank you for leading this year's parade and reminding all of us what true strength, courage, and hope look like. We are so proud to have celebrated you as our 2026 Loco Daze Grand Marshal.
