3rd and final call 🎅 The weather is looking perfect!

Celebrate the holiday season with the City of Dilworth! The City’s 3rd Annual Tree Lighting Event is on Tuesday, December 3rd from 5:00-7:00pm.

Things to do:

• Listen to the Moorhead High Carolers. If you enjoy their performance please consider making a donation to their group.
• See the tree lighting at 5:30pm
• Meet Santa Clause!
• Ride the horse drawn wagon
• Sip some hot chocolate hosted by the Dilworth Police Department
• Decorate a sugar cookie
• Keep warm by the camp fires and enjoy a S’more hosted by the Dilworth Fire Department
• Show your creative side by entering the coloring contest
• Eat dinner served by UC Hope. There will be a minimal charge for the meal so plan on bringing some cash. $
• Donate to those in need this holiday season. We will be collecting food for Seeds Of Hope Food Pantry in Dilworth. Seeds of Hope asked for donations of cereal and any non-perishable food items.

Hey Dilworth, wondering what’s happening in Birch Tree Park. We have the community medicinal garden going and invite you to participate. Wednesday evenings at 5:30pm is our weekly work day and free class. Come join us and learn

Upcoming schedule at garden. All start at 7:00 pm
June 15: all about Lemon Balm and mulching garden
June 22: gardening with Comfrey
June 24: herbal garden tour at Kanji Naturals and class on making flower essences
June 29: it’s Borage baby!

Join us to water and w**d and learn about growing, harvesting and using herbs. It’s free!

Class on June 24th has a cost of $10 for class and tour (waived if helped at garden at least twice) and $10 to make and take home a flower essence.

PM if interested in flower essence and tour so I have enough supplies.

We also need two more dedicated, passionate board members if interested.

We’ve got something exciting going on in Dilworth’s Birch Tree Park.

The “Hope and Joy Medicinal Garden” has been planted for phase 1. This garden is a community garden where we will be holding classes to teach about growing, harvesting and using herbs.

We will be depending on volunteers coordinated through the FB page for Hope and Joy garden. Volunteers are able to harvest and use the herbs and to take classes at a reduced rate. More details coming on their FB page.

Hope you will take advantage of this garden in your hometown.

We also have more plans for Birch Tree Park so keep checking in

Many of you probably saw the attached InForum article. Yesterday the FM cities collectively asked residents to refrain from using playground equipment at parks until further notice. In Dilworth, caution tape will be going around swings and entry way points of playground equipment. Does this mean you can’t go to a park? No, it doesn’t mean that; but, in accordance with Governor Walz’s order, municipal parks are not closed (the playground equipment is), though we do ask you practice proper social distancing and avoid gathering in groups. This announcement and others regarding COVID-19 can be found on the city’s website. Take care and stay safe.

Come get your skate on at Whistle Stop Park as the rink opens for the season tomorrow. ⛸⛸⛸ No skates? No worries, we got you covered. A warming house attendant can get you sized up and on the ice in no time (free rental)!!!

Monday - Friday (4:00 pm - 8:00 pm)
Saturday - Sunday (1:00 pm - 6:00 pm)

Closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. 🎄
