MISSION STATEMENT
Veterans Promise is committed to assisting and advocating for Veterans and their families, in obtaining needed services and support. We will accomplish this through needs assessment, outreach, advocacy and resource linkage. In addition, we are committed to raising awareness for and aiding in the prevention of Veteran Su***de. Our target audience is all who have worn the uniform o

f the United States Armed Forces. OUR PROMISE
Our promise is to advocate, educate, and raise awareness for all veterans. We will offer outreach for PTSD, su***de prevention, drug and alcohol education, and support to veterans and their families in our community. We will leave no stone unturned, no matter how big or small, to accomplish our mission. Advocacy is the first step in conquering the battle here on the home front. We will do Whatever it takes to Keep the Promise. Veterans Promise was founded in November 0f 2016 and in that time period we have acquired a 501c3 nonprofit status, raised over $10,000 dollars and secured a hard structure building at 737 Main St Dickson City Pa 18519. Those are all great accomplishments but most importantly we helped over ten veterans in crisis situations and supported many families in all aspects of veteran’s issues along the way. We also provided 20 hardship grants in 2018 and provided Christmas for the orphans of some of the fallen veterans on our Wall of Heroes.
2019 was our best year yet as we solidified our service that we are providing in our building and in the community. We are now offering a weekly drug and alcohol peer support veteran meeting weekly soon to be twice a week inn 2020. As well as bi monthly peer to peer PTSD support groups. We have out grown our group rooms which is a good problem to have. So now we are moving forward to remodel our basement to make it a huge conference area where groups can be had without the worry of running out of room. Task we perform
Hardship grants for veterans and their families
Monthly Candlelight Vigils for our fallen
Family support in times of loss and crisis. Drug and Alcohol addictions prevention peer to peer
Referral services of VA assets and another Veteran Non-profit organizations
Advocating on Veterans and their family’s behalf
Peer to peer family support, AA / NA , PTSD groups in our building

Each month on the 22nd we honor our fallen Heroes’ with our Shine the Light ceremony in honor of those veterans who were lost here on the home front to su***de
