TO FUNDERS, INSTITUTIONS & PARTNERS IN WAYNE COUNTY…
Tonight, I (Ms. Possible) saw my research in real time.

I hosted a live implementation session for nonprofit and mission-driven leaders.

Six were enrolled. Three paid. Three sponsored.
One showed up ready to build.

Not because the others didn’t care.
Because reality showed up first.

The one who did attend was working from a phone.
No laptop.

Using free tools with limited functionality.
And, had to leave early due to a family emergency.

This is what technology adoption actually looks like on the ground in Wayne County.

Not resistance.
Not lack of vision.

Access.
Tools.
Time.
Capacity.

As a doctoral researcher studying nonprofit technology adoption and mission success, this is the gap we don’t talk about enough:

We are asking leaders to adopt systems they are not resourced to sustain.

And then we measure their success as if the playing field is level.

It’s not.

If we want real outcomes, we have to shift the conversation:

From training → to readiness
From programs → to infrastructure
From ideas → to implementation capacity

This is why I built the Funding First™ Sprint.

Not to inspire.
To install structure.

Because when leaders are equipped properly, they don’t just participate;
they build, they sustain, and they scale.

If you’re a funder, institution, or partner, this is where the investment needs to go next:
Digital readiness.
Operational infrastructure.
Real capacity.
Not theory.
Ex*****on.

“66% of nonprofit founders don’t have a funding problem.
They have a structure problem.

After running my first Funding First cohort this March 2026, here’s what I saw:

• Most founders start with a vision, but no system
• They gain clarity quickly
• But ex*****on slows without structure

What changed everything?
Accountability.
Ex*****on.
Structure.

This is exactly what my doctoral research is uncovering in Wayne County.
Technology doesn’t fail nonprofits.

Lack of infrastructure does.

And that’s what I build.

Detroit gave me my first leadership classroom.

Years ago I was organizing youth programs and community initiatives across the city.

We were bringing young people together, creating opportunities, and building spaces where leaders could connect.

Many of those programs were free.

Because the goal was always simple: SERVE THE COMMUNITY.

But behind the scenes I kept running into the same challenge many Detroit Founders face.

We knew how to do the work.

But no one had ever explained the SYSTEM BEHIND FUNDING THE WORK.

So we figured things out the way Detroit does.

Through hustle.

Through sacrifice.

Through personal commitment.

Overtime that question stayed with me.

Why do some organizations consistently secure funding while others doing powerful work struggle to sustain themselves?

That question eventually led me into deeper study, research, and interviews with nonprofit leaders across Wayne County.

And the answer kept showing up again and again.

Funding doesn’t follow passion alone.

Funding follows STRUCTURE.

Structure that funders understand.

Structure that signals readiness.

Structure that supports growth.

That discovery changed the direction of my work.

Today I help founders build the INFRASTRUCTURE BEHIND THEIR MISSION so their work can be sustainable and fundable.

That’s exactly what we’re doing inside the FUNDING FIRST ™ SPRINT starting Thursday.

Because Detroit has never lacked vision.

What we’ve lacked is ACCESS TO THE SYSTEM BEHIND FUNDING.

And that’s the gap I’m working to close. We
