We are excited to celebrate our 40th Anniversary. In 1986, Rev. Anthony started the process of implementing a community outreach arm of the church, Fellowship Chapel. He named it in honor of our founding pastor, and his mentor, Rev. James E. Wadsworth, Jr.
Over these last four decades we have enhanced the quality of life for tens of thousand in the community through programs and events. We have offered GED and SAT preparation, summer youth camps, senior programs, financial literacy, tutoring, youth development, healthy living and so much more.
One of our longest programs, also initiated by Rev. Anthony, that actually precedes our inception is our Isuthu (Ee-su-too) Rites of Passage mentoring program for boys ages 6-17. He brought it back following a trip abroad to west Africa. The principles and concepts help to grow boys into men. We also offer a female counterpart, Intonjane (In-tone-Johnny), for girls 6-17.
In addition to the Rites of Passage mentoring programs we currently provide tutoring and music lessons for youth, Toastmasters, Youth Leadership Academy, Adoption & Foster Care, Grandparents & Kinship Care, Sit ‘n Sew, an annual turkey dinner give-away and more.
We have been blessed to work in partnership, and collaboration, with many other dynamic organizations along the way and still today; just to name a few.
We are grateful for the grants and sponsors that have supported us along the journey as well;

Huntington Bank

Our biggest thanks and appreciation is for our volunteers, participants and Program Directors. Stay tuned for our upcoming events where we will recognize several of them and others in the community for their accomplishments.
