I still get so excited when Dr. Lisa Barry and our dedicated team of eye care professionals at Eye Care For Detroit pull up in neighborhoods to provide curbside/driveway vision exams with care and courtesy! 🏠👓

Our mobile unit brings comprehensive eye care directly to front doors - no need to travel, no barriers, just quality vision care where you need it most. This is what accessible healthcare looks like! 💙

Shout out to our incredible team for making Friday house calls feel as normal as any other delivery - except we're , clear sight and better health! 🙌

Had a ball today on the East Side of Detroit! 🌟

Shout out to City of Detroit Government Councilwoman Latisha Johnson for hosting today's District 4 Step Into Wellness Fair! 🏛️ Eye Care For Detroit was honored to deliver vision screenings and eye care services to the community.

Events like these remind us why accessibility matters - bringing healthcare directly to neighborhoods where it's needed most. Our mobile unit was busy providing comprehensive eye exams and connecting residents with vision resources! 👁️🚐

Here's a little preview: Eye Care for Detroit will soon be expanding as a tenant-neighbor on Detroit's east side because we care for all of Detroit - Westside and Eastside! Stay tuned for more details! 🙏🏾📍

Highlight of the Summer!!!

WHAT: We helped to facilitate an incredible day at a Back to School Bash for the ages for 350+ attendees! 🎒✨

WHEN & WHERE: Last Friday afternoon at the City of Detroit Government's Adams-Butzel Recreation Complex was everything - just 2.7 miles from where Doc grew up as a kid. Being back in the neighborhood serving families hit different. 🏠❤️

WHO: Huge thanks to our partners who showed up BIG: Meridian of Michigan Health Plan gave away 150+ backpacks! 🎒

Wayne Mobile Health Unit and Delta Dental of Michigan - Hygiene on Wheels brought the health and dental screenings 🏥

First Independence Bank- brought piggy banks, financial literacy tools, and a readiness to open new checking and savings accounts for parents and children.💰

The Eye Care for Detroit team and volunteers was there doing what we do best. 👁️

WHY: Here's what made it special for me - Doc wrote a personal note for every single kid's backpack. 📝

💙 As a kid from Detroit, now a professor and entrepreneur, Dr. Moorer and our team knows that these moments matter. Sometimes all it takes is someone believing in you and saying the right thing at the right time. 🌟

IMPACT: We screened close to 150 children and have dozens of follow-ups scheduled just in time for school. 📚 Can't have our future leaders struggling to see the board, right? 👓

PURPOSE: This is exactly why we do this work. Strategic partnerships, community impact, and making sure every child has what they need to succeed. It's business, it's mission, it's personal - all wrapped into one amazing day. 💪🏾🙏🏾

Definitely one of the most memorable events of the summer. This is what really looks like. 🚀

Eye Care for Detroit will be and is joining forces with Health Mobile Unit, and Delta Dental of Michigan for one of Detroit's most EPIC Back to School & End of Summer Bash! 🌟🎉

Special thanks to our friends at First Independence Bank for their generosity and stepping up to support the vision care needs of many of the youth who will be present!

Our goal? Provide 200-300 students with FREE comprehensive eye exams and diabetic screenings! Plus backpacks, school supplies, food trucks, health screenings, and dental cleanings! 🦷👁️

We're getting 's kids ready for academic SUCCESS - one clear vision at a time! This is community power in action! 💪🏾
