🧭 Growing food in Detroit means navigating more than soil, seeds, and weather. Join Keep Growing Detroit and the for an interactive workshop focused on the rights, responsibilities, and policies that impact gardeners and farmers across the city.

WHERE: Clark Park Recreation Center
WHEN: 1130 Clark Ave., Detroit 48209
No RSVP, just come through!

Together, we’ll explore design, maintenance, and permitting requirements for urban gardens and farms, discuss common causes of blight tickets and citations, and review steps growers can take to avoid enforcement issues before they arise.

We’ll also take a closer look at permitting processes, fees, and city requirements, and discuss what to do if you receive a citation or blight ticket. Participants will hear directly from growers with lived experience navigating permitting and blight processes and have an opportunity to ask questions and learn from one another.

Peace family,

DBFLF Application Tour is here.
This is the start of our Detroit Black Farmer Land Fund Application Season!!!

We’re pulling up to libraries across the city, in person, with intention. Not just to walk through our application, but to build real skills around how to apply for any grant.

This is for folks who want to understand:
• how to build a real budget
• how to shape a strong narrative
• how to define your project scope
• how to move with timelines that make sense

This is for past awardees, for those who applied and didn’t get selected, and especially for new farmers and folks trying to find their entry point.
We’re not gatekeeping process , we’re practicing it together.

Come sit, ask questions And Let’s develop quality applications together !

First stop is the Douglass Library Branch .
April 23rd 4:00-5:30pm
Event registration in the Bio .
