Connecting our Community Through the Arts! We want to help advance, promote, support and expand artistic excellence, innovation, and creativity. WE NEED HELP!

The Art Foundation of Desert Hot Springs, CA is a new, 501(c)3 tax exempt, non-profit organization started by a small group of local residents and business owners who care deeply about our city and believe our community can grow and benefit from the arts. We are currently NOT FUNDED. We are seeking:

Donations: WE ARE NOW 501(c)3 TAX EXEMPT! ALL DONATIONS ARE NOW TAX DEDUCTIBLE * We are currently

Founding Benefactor: to cement our organization as a permanent fixture of our city. We wish and hope for some generous visionary to see our great potential and the dire need for our work in Desert Hot Springs. Our city is full of very talented young people, and even some well established artists. Our resources and connections are so limited and our public image is unfairly negative and sensationalized by local media. Please, help us make this city a place where art and culture elevates it’s residents and visitors, broadens their perspectives, and enriches their lives. Grants: we have grant writers that are working hard to obtain funding. Donated funds are currently going primarily to pay our grant writers. Volunteers: we have recently recruited 3 new volunteers and we are actively accepting new applicants. Email us at [email protected]

Promotion & Media Coverage: we are working on putting together a full press kit, and we would appreciate any help we can get on that. Whether you are an anchor on big city primetime news show, or just an avid social media users with a lot of followers, we’d really appreciate any exposure you can give us or tips and advice about how can implement some public relations efforts.

Our Mission and Purpose

The Art Foundation of Desert Hot Springs will focus its work on creative place making, which describes how art plays an intentional and integrated role in community planning and development. This brings artists, arts organizations, and artistic activity into the suite of place making strategies. We believed that in order to accomplish this goal, we, as citizens, must stay locally informed regarding community developments and become a part of the decision making. We want to help advance, promote, support and expand artistic excellence, innovation, and creativity for the benefit of individuals and the community.

AFDHS brings artists, arts organizations, and artistic activity into the suite of place making, using strategies pioneered by cities all around the world. In practice, this means having arts and culture represented alongside sectors like housing and transportation, which will bring about an overall healthy community. This "Change" will require planning and investment from our entire community. Our Vision

In our city of D.H.S, there are very few opportunities for someone to see and experience great contemporary art. There are also few opportunities to take some kind of workshop in some art form. If you’re an artist in Desert Hot Springs, there are few opportunities to get support for your practice. We hope to be that new opportunity.

The Art Foundation of Desert Hot Springs seeks to create a dialogue between the established and the experimental, the past and the present, in an environment that is responsive to all types of art, while being accessible to a public that ranges from scholars to young children.

Our dream is to one day build a facility for every area of art. The facility that we envision, will serve as a laboratory for the next generation of artists and culture-interested people; a platform to showcase future leaders—be they painters, educators, scholars, designers ,or curators. It’s a fluid project. We want to get our entire community involved, for this will be... “Your place to enjoy and learn”.
