There is something incredibly special about seeing a child you have prayed for, encouraged, and supported finally face to face.

Several members of our team had the opportunity to visit the children they sponsor through our Child Sponsorship Program. What begins as a name, a photo, and a commitment to make a difference becomes something much deeper when you sit together, meet their family, and hear their story.

Sometimes the journey is just as challenging as the mission itself. Flight cancellations, delayed arrivals, and a team scattered across multiple flights could have slowed us down. But through every obstacle, God made a way. ❤️

This week, we are blessed to welcome a mission team from The Well Worship Center in Kansas. After a long and challenging journey, they have finally arrived in Honduras and are already investing in the lives of these amazing children as we kick off another week of VBS.

Every delay only increased the anticipation to be here, and seeing the smiles on these faces reminds us exactly why we came. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve together and excited to see all that God has in store throughout this week.

People always assume mission teams come to give.
And they do.

They come with games prepared, lessons planned, songs rehearsed, and hearts ready to serve.

But if you ask most of our team, they'll tell you the same thing: they received far more than they gave.

This morning, we had the privilege of worshiping alongside the church family at San José del Alto as we wrapped up our week of ministry in Honduras. As we reflect on the past few days, we're reminded that missions is never a one-way exchange.

We came hoping to be a blessing, but we leave encouraged by the faith we've witnessed, inspired by the joy we've experienced, and grateful for the relationships God allowed us to build.

We're not very good at goodbyes.

Then again, who would be after spending a week laughing, playing, worshiping, and making memories with these amazing kids?

Today was our sponsors' pool day, a special opportunity to spend one last day together before heading home. It was filled with smiles, hugs, conversations, and moments we'll remember for a long time.

But as the day came to an end, so did our time together. That's always the bittersweet part of missions. We leave with full hearts, grateful for every relationship God allowed us to build, yet wishing we had just a little more time.

Coming to Honduras on a mission trip may have unexpected side effects.

At first, you come for a week to help with VBS. Then you fall in love with the people, the ministry, and what God is doing here. Before you know it... you're moving to Honduras full-time like Troy. 😆

Today was Day 3 of VBS, and we continue to be amazed by God's faithfulness. From the games and songs to the Bible lessons and conversations, every moment is an opportunity to share the love of Christ.

Thank you for your prayers and support. Please continue praying for the children, their families, and everyone serving this week. ❤️

Before Day 2 could officially begin, there was one very important thing to do... show off the brand-new Extra Mile Missions shirts! 😎👕

Day 2 of VBS is underway, and we are thankful for another opportunity to serve alongside our North Carolina team and share the love of Christ with the children in our community.

From games and songs to Bible lessons and new friendships, God continues to work in amazing ways through every volunteer and every child who walks through our doors.

Sometimes the Gospel reaches people… on a basketball court before it reaches them in a church pew.

What looks like just a game is becoming a doorway for people to encounter Jesus, hear the truth, and find a new life through Him.

This ministry isn’t only feeding people lunch. It’s feeding souls with hope, truth, discipleship, and the message of Christ.
And maybe the most beautiful part is this - they don’t just lead people to Jesus… they stay and walk with them afterward.
