Great food. Great friends. Great local spot.

Denver Lake Norman Rotary Club had a fun social night at 5th Quarter Food Truck Court in Denver, NC, and it was exactly what Rotary is all about.

Yes, we do service projects.
Yes, we raise money for local causes.
Yes, we work hard to support the Denver/Lake Norman community.

But we also build friendships.

Rotary is about bringing good people together who want to make a difference, enjoy each other’s company, and support the local businesses that help make our community special.

Thanks to 5th Quarter Food Truck Court for giving us a great place to gather, laugh, eat, and connect.

If you are looking for a way to meet great people, give back locally, and be part of something positive in the Denver/Lake Norman area, come visit us.

We would love to meet you.

Sometimes Denver Lake Norman Rotary Club goes old school.

Really old school. 🎶

But if you think Rotary is just a bunch of old dudes sitting around, harrumphing, and trying to sell you something, think again.

Our club is made up of women and men who lead, serve, laugh, raise money, get their hands dirty, and show up for this community.

We put shovels in the dirt for beautification projects.
We sponsor and run Music in the Park.
We raise money through Race for Philanthropy.
We provide scholarships for local high school students.
We support projects that help families, kids, seniors, and neighbors across the Denver/Lake Norman area.

And yes, every now and then, we sing a Woody Guthrie song and have a little fun doing it.

That is Rotary.

Service. Friendship. Community. Purpose. And plenty of laughter along the way.

If you want to meet great people, make a real difference locally, and be part of something bigger than yourself, come visit Denver Lake Norman Rotary Club.

We would love to have you join us.

Some of the best things happen simply because someone chose to show up.

Join us one Wednesday morning for breakfast, conversation, and a glimpse of what Rotary is all about — good people coming together to do good, and feeling pretty good while doing it.

We meet at 7:30 a.m. at The Episcopal Church of St. Peter by-the-Lake, with the program beginning at 7:45. We conclude at 8:30.

Come as our guest. You may leave inspired, encouraged, or ready to get involved.

And who knows? Something good may happen because you were there.

Thursday night, I had the privilege of being inducted as President of the Denver/Lake Norman Rotary Club.

Standing beside me was our outgoing president, Trudie Crawford — a woman whose kindness, encouragement and genuine care for others have shaped this club in ways that cannot be measured.

Trudie has a remarkable gift for making people feel seen, valued and appreciated. She leads with warmth, grace and a generous heart, and I honestly do not know how I will ever match the standard she has set.

Perhaps I am not supposed to.

My responsibility is not to become another Trudie. It is to build upon the strong foundation she has given us, lead in my own way and do everything possible to honor the trust this club has placed in me.

Trudie, thank you for your leadership, your friendship and for believing in me — especially during those moments when I may not fully believe in myself.

I am humbled, grateful and excited for the year ahead. And until they impeach me, I suppose I am officially the president.
