Dr. Aron Allen Superintendent of LCS joined us last week at Denver Lake Norman Rotary Club. Dr. Allen provided an excellent overview of where Lincoln County Schools have been, where they are and where they are going.

He coverd the challenges to federal funding cuts to how the county funds the many of the key programs. (Hint: a small sales tax)

Some numbers:

Lincoln County ranked tied for 14th for overall profiency compared to other LEAs 24-25.

2026 graduating class of 899
$30M+ in offered scholarships
43.6% to 4 year university
30% to community college, technical institute, trade school
3% to military
24% to workforce.

I thought his covering of the apprenticeship programs especially LPN was inspiring to know how our school system is serving the community.

And that's what we do at Denver Lake Norman Rotary by having great speakers come in to inform us about what in happening locally.

Join us every Wednesday at 7:30AM for breakfast, for insights and for community.

Great food. Great friends. Great local spot.

Denver Lake Norman Rotary Club had a fun social night at 5th Quarter Food Truck Court in Denver, NC, and it was exactly what Rotary is all about.

Yes, we do service projects.
Yes, we raise money for local causes.
Yes, we work hard to support the Denver/Lake Norman community.

But we also build friendships.

Rotary is about bringing good people together who want to make a difference, enjoy each other’s company, and support the local businesses that help make our community special.

Thanks to 5th Quarter Food Truck Court for giving us a great place to gather, laugh, eat, and connect.

If you are looking for a way to meet great people, give back locally, and be part of something positive in the Denver/Lake Norman area, come visit us.

We would love to meet you.

Sometimes Denver Lake Norman Rotary Club goes old school.

Really old school. 🎶

But if you think Rotary is just a bunch of old dudes sitting around, harrumphing, and trying to sell you something, think again.

Our club is made up of women and men who lead, serve, laugh, raise money, get their hands dirty, and show up for this community.

We put shovels in the dirt for beautification projects.
We sponsor and run Music in the Park.
We raise money through Race for Philanthropy.
We provide scholarships for local high school students.
We support projects that help families, kids, seniors, and neighbors across the Denver/Lake Norman area.

And yes, every now and then, we sing a Woody Guthrie song and have a little fun doing it.

That is Rotary.

Service. Friendship. Community. Purpose. And plenty of laughter along the way.

If you want to meet great people, make a real difference locally, and be part of something bigger than yourself, come visit Denver Lake Norman Rotary Club.

We would love to have you join us.
