Meet Zero

After everything Zero has been through, this incredibly deserving boy is finally ready for his next chapter—and we cannot wait to see him spoiled rotten by a family of his very own.

Zero is approximately 4 years old and currently weighs 56 pounds. He is calm, affectionate, easygoing, and the definition of a Velcro dog.

If you’re looking for a dog who genuinely seems grateful for every meal, every cuddle, every car ride, every couch nap, and every ounce of love he receives, Zero may be your guy.

He wants to be involved in whatever you’re doing and will happily follow you from room to room. Apparently, going to the bathroom alone is no longer something his future family needs to worry about.

Zero loves people and is dog and cat friendly.
He also seems to have a special soft spot for men. Give Zero a guy to hang out with and there’s a pretty good chance he just found his new best friend.

Zero’s Story

Zero came into our rescue completely starved and emaciated, weighing only 37 pounds.

Every bone in his body was visible. You could feel every vertebrae along his spine, and his hind end was covered in large, open pressure sores because there was simply no cushion left on his body.

We will probably never know everything Zero experienced before coming to us, but we do know that the months leading up to his rescue were anything but kind.

And somehow, despite everything humans had failed him on, Zero still loved people.

He never stopped wanting affection.
He never stopped wanting to be close.
He never stopped trusting.

Watching this dog come back to life has been incredibly rewarding.

Today, Zero weighs 56 pounds. His wounds are healed, his body continues to get stronger, and his personality is blossoming more every day.

For probably the first time in a very long time, Zero gets to simply be a dog.

Now he needs the family who gets to finish this journey with him.

Zero absolutely loves spending time outside—running around, sniffing, exploring, and enjoying the freedom he probably didn’t have before. Because of this, we would prefer a family with a fully fenced yard where he can safely enjoy one of his favorite things.

Foster-to-Adopt and Medical Information

Zero is currently heartworm positive and will begin heartworm treatment in November. His neuter is scheduled for this month.

Perfect Pet Adoption Center Inc. will cover the cost of his heartworm treatment.

Until his remaining medical care is completed, Zero will remain legally under Perfect Pet Adoption Center Inc. through our Foster-to-Adopt program.

You provide the home.
You provide the love.
We’ll continue getting Zero through the medical care he needs.

Zero doesn’t ask for much. He just wants to belong to somebody.

After everything this dog has survived, we desperately want the next chapter of his life to be the one where he never has to wonder whether he is loved again.

He deserves a family who will love him just as hard as he loves them—and spoil him rotten for the rest of his life.

✨ A LITTLE NIMBESS UPDATE… AND THIS ONE HAS ME IN TEARS. ❤️‍🩹
We still need donations towards his continued medical care.

If you’ve been following along with our newest little wonky gentleman, Nimbess, you know just how incredibly fragile this tiny boy is.

At approximately 4 weeks old and weighing just 236 grams, Nimbess came to us with significant neurological deficits, a small cranial fracture, and a suspected traumatic brain injury.

When he arrived, he was completely lateral.

He couldn’t stand.
He couldn’t walk.
He couldn’t hold his head up.
He couldn’t even eat on his own.

His tiny little body was there, but neurologically, he was struggling tremendously.

We knew his prognosis was guarded. We knew there was a very real possibility that he wouldn’t survive.

But we also knew he deserved a chance.

Nimbess has been with our rescue since Sunday.

And every single day since then, this tiny little boy has given us another reason to keep fighting.

At first, it was the smallest movements.
He started moving his legs a little more.
Then he started trying to move his body.
Then he began attempting to lift his head.

And then this little stinker started KICKING MY HAND AWAY when I would pet him. 😂

Something that might seem so insignificant to someone else was absolutely EVERYTHING to me.

Because just days ago, this little boy couldn’t even support his own head.

And Wednesday …

Nimbess did something that brought me to tears.
HE HELD HIS HEAD UP. ALL. BY. HIMSELF. 😭

His tiny little body, weighing barely half a pound, found the strength to do something that seemed nearly impossible just a few days ago.

And I genuinely cannot put into words what that moment meant to me.

I know to some people, it’s just a kitten holding his head up.

But to me?
It’s hope.
It’s progress.
It’s a tiny little life reminding me exactly why we do what we do.

Why we lose sleep.
Why we take on the cases that seem impossible.
Why we pour every ounce of ourselves into animals that the world might have already given up on.

Because sometimes, the smallest victories are the ones that mean the absolute most.

Nimbess is still critically fragile. He still requires around-the-clock care, assisted feedings, medications, and constant monitoring.

We are nowhere near out of the woods, and we still don’t know what his future will look like.

His neurological recovery remains uncertain, and we understand that these improvements don’t guarantee a full recovery.

But I refuse to overlook just how far this little boy has come in such a short amount of time.

Because Nimbess is STRONG.
He is stubborn.
He is determined.
And he is one heck of a little fighter.

These are the moments that make every heartbreak, every sleepless night, and every difficult decision worth it.

Sometimes rescue is devastating.
Sometimes, despite everything we do, we lose.
But sometimes…

Sometimes a 236-gram kitten with a broken little skull lifts his head for the very first time.

And suddenly, for just a moment, everything feels right in the world. ❤️‍🩹

I don’t know what tomorrow holds for Nimbess.

I don’t know if he’ll ever walk normally, if he’ll have permanent neurological deficits, or what challenges may lie ahead.

But I do know one thing.
This little boy is NOT ready to give up.
And neither are we.

Ruby is 2y old and around 50-55lbs. She is our adventurous social butterfly! She loves getting out, meeting new people, and exploring the world around her. She’s outgoing, friendly, and always ready for her next adventure!

And if you really want to win her heart? B***Y SCRATCHES AND BELLY RUBS! This girl absolutely lives for them! 😂❤️

💕 Meet Delilah (Tri color)!

Delilah is 2y old and 45-50lbs. She is little more laid-back, but she enjoys getting out and about just as much! She’s not too concerned about where she’s going, as long as she’s with her person!

And let us tell you… this girl gives actual HUGS AND SMILES! 🥹❤️ Yes, you read that right! Delilah will give you the sweetest hugs and flash you the most adorable little smile!

They are NOT bonded and absolutely do not need to be adopted together. Each would be perfectly happy finding a loving family of her own!

❤️‍🩹 WELCOME TO THE RESCUE, GEORGIE! 🐾

Our little fighter officially made it to Florida yesterday! And while Georgie is finally safe, we have a LONG road ahead of us.

A HUGE thank you to Tonya, Jamie, and TJ for coordinating his transport and getting him safely to Florida, and to Jeanine for meeting us halfway to get him to our veterinary clinic! 🩷

Unfortunately, Georgie’s injuries are significantly worse than we initially anticipated.

Radiographs revealed a severe, displaced femoral compound break involving his right hind limb, with an associated dislocation.

Essentially, Georgie’s thigh bone is broken and no longer properly aligned.

We are currently consulting with our general practice, orthopedic, and emergency veterinarians to determine the safest and most appropriate treatment plan for this little guy.

BUT RIGHT NOW, WE DESPERATELY NEED A FOSTER HOME. 🚨

Not a single person has stepped up for George, and honestly, we are struggling to understand why. 🥺

Georgie is only 11 pounds! He’s an otherwise healthy, happy little puppy who just happens to have a very broken leg.
He doesn’t need a mansion, a huge backyard, or someone home 24/7.
He needs someone willing to give him a safe place to heal.

Georgie currently requires:
🐾 STRICT cage rest.
🐾 Very limited activity and movement.
🐾 No running, jumping, roughhousing, or playing.
🐾 Someone committed to following his medical restrictions while we determine his next steps.

His leg is currently being splinted for temporary stabilization while we finalize his treatment plan.

✨ JUST ADDING A LITTLE MORE WONKY INTO THE MIX. ✨

Everyone, meet Nimbess. 🥹🐾

This teeny tiny gentleman joined our rescue today after being found with his siblings, very clearly failing to thrive. Another wonderful rescue had been caring for him before transferring him to us for continued medical care.

And when I say tiny… I mean TINY.

At approximately 4 weeks old, Nimbess weighs just 236 grams. That’s barely HALF A POUND. Roughly the weight of a small apple. 🍎

But his size is honestly the least concerning thing about him.

Nimbess arrived lateral, unable to stand, walk, or even support his own head.

Neurologically, he’s a bit of a mystery.
He has reflexes present in all four limbs.
His pupils respond to light.
He exhibits abnormal extension of his head and body.
He has a small cranial fracture with suspected traumatic brain injury.
Despite maintaining his blood glucose, his neurological deficits remain significant.

This little boy is critically ill.

We’ve initiated oral and IV medications to address suspected inflammation and potential infection, as he’s also showing some upper respiratory symptoms.

Thankfully, Nimbess still has a swallowing reflex, but he lacks the strength and coordination to eat independently.

So, we’re providing careful tube feedings around the clock to ensure he’s receiving the nutrition his tiny body desperately needs.

And we’re hoping. Really, really hoping.
But we’re also realistic.

Neurological injuries in kittens this fragile are unpredictable. His condition could improve, deteriorate, or leave him with permanent deficits.
But luckily Kenzie is a wonky galore fanatic.
This is kind of her forte!

We don’t know what tomorrow looks like for Nimbess.

What we DO know is that he’s fighting. And we’re going to fight right alongside him. ❤️‍🩹

These are the babies that require everything we have. The medical knowledge, the sleepless nights, the constant monitoring, the medications, the supplies, and the financial resources.
But Nimbess deserves the opportunity to prove everyone wrong.

We’re asking for a little help keeping this eenkie deenkie gentleman fighting. 🥹

This handsome little gentleman is a 4-year-old Dachshund who is searching for a very special FOSTER-TO-ADOPT HOME!

Banner is as SWEET as can be, but he’s also a little shy when it comes to meeting new people and adjusting to unfamiliar environments.

And honestly? We can’t blame him. 🥹

Not every dog walks into a new home with their tail wagging, ready to make themselves comfortable on your couch.

Some need a little extra time, patience, reassurance, and understanding before they realize they’re finally safe.

Banner is one of those dogs. ❤️

Once he feels comfortable and begins to trust you, his true personality starts to shine. Underneath that initially timid exterior is an incredibly sweet, affectionate little lap dog who just wants someone to love.

But we need someone willing to let him get there ON HIS OWN TIME.

No rushing him. No forcing interactions. No expecting him to be your best friend within the first 24 hours.

Just patience, consistency, kindness, and a whole lot of love.
