It is relatively debated how Memorial Day came about, but it’s widely accepted that it has its origins dating back to the end of the Civil War.
It was a simple, but poignant collective action of tribute. Fast forward more than 150 years later, with approximately 1.4 to 1.6 million soldiers lost in conflict, we as a nation still hold strong this tradition.
We extend our condolences & gratefulness to the ones who gave it all, and to the families of those who gave it all. For their unwavering commitment in the midst of the horrors of war.
As we honor their memory, and sacrifice, let us reflect on the price that conflict brings about. In their names, may we yearn for a society, a nation, a world, where the peace of the Lord abounds.
As followers of Christ, let us commemorate the fallen, while praying for their loved ones, as we remember the Prince of Peace.
To all who have fallen, & to their loved ones, may His peace which surpasses all understanding, be with you all this Memorial Day.
