Happy September! September is such a beautiful month, with a lovely crispness to the air--in other words, great hiking club weather 😎

This month, Hiking Club with Martha and Jack will meet:

September 2 - Barred Island
September 9 - Crockett Cove
September 16 - Settlement Quarry
September 23 - Fox Hollow
September 30 - Tennis Preserve

There's no sign up for Hiking Club, simply show up! We recommend good walking shoes, a water bottle and layers. Also, if you have binoculars or loupes you like to use, they would be great to bring.

Please check our dog policy for each preserve before bringing your pup to Hiking Club: islandheritagetrust.org/visit-a-preserve/ -id-2

Thank you to the wonderful Boot Boutwell for such an engaging, fun and informative walk at Scott's Landing. Despite the rainy weather, we had a great group of folks join in. We smelled flowers, rubbed leaves, listened to poetry, even sampled some refreshing sumac-ade! We all went away with a great appreciation for the everyday plants we see around us.

We even had a surprise guest show up--a massive bald eagle!

Stay tuned for details about another upcoming nature walk with Boot!
