Nia, meaning Purpose, calls us to commit to building and uplifting our community while reclaiming the brilliance of our heritage. At BADG, our Purpose shines through in every effort to empower Black creatives, foster community, and center our culture. By working together with intention, we can restore our people to their traditional greatness and cultivate a brighter future.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We advance this mission through initiatives like BADG Talks by sparking vital conversations around Black culture in art and design. These discussions challenge outdated narratives, amplify Black voices, and explore ways to create systemic change for Black makers. Nia propels us forward, ensuring our community thrives and our collective greatness endures.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
With shared Purpose, we can make an impact that reverberates for generations. Join us in honoring Nia and building a legacy of creativity, collaboration, and excellence.

Ujamaa, which stands for Cooperative Economics, reminds us of the power of building our creative practices and sharing their benefits within our community. Through our BADG Lifestyle initiative, we work with partners on licensing and product development to create new works and collaborative collections under the BADG umbrella.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Through BADG Lifestyle, we partnered with .harris.home to bring the Orejen Collection to life. This stunning range of fabric textiles draws inspiration from East Africa, Southeast Asia, and the Pacific Islands, weaving a more inclusive and culturally rich design narrative for future generations. The collection embodies both delicacy and durability, crafted to reflect the excellence and collective vision of our community.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Through partnerships like these, we continue to honor Ujamaa, creating pathways for designers of African descent to thrive and redefine the design industry together. Together, we build stronger futures and celebrate the beauty of connection and shared creativity. ✍🏿 🫱🏾‍🫲🏽 ✊🏾
