Whether it be a one-time donation or a monthly one, every dollar helps us help our seniors in Wise County. Can you be one of those donors? If you don't have the money, maybe you can spare the time to help take meals to the seniors or help with food preparation.

$25 can mean more than a meal at the door.

For a homebound senior in Wise County, it can mean a nutritious meal, a friendly visit, and a wellness check that helps someone stay safe and connected.

As Meals on Wheels America shared, for many seniors, that visit may be the only social interaction of the day, and that meal may be the only nutritious food they receive.

If you would like to help, a $25 gift helps cover meal preparation, delivery, and that caring check-in. Thank you for supporting seniors in this community. 💙

Please join us at the Wise County Health & Wellness Expo, tomorrow, Friday September 25th! Decatur Conference Center from 9:00 - 1:00. We have some great raffles (see pictures in comments) plus lots of stuff from our museum store.

Greeting Charles Braun at the Boyd High School was County Judge J.D. Clark. He was escorted into the school by Judge Clark and Wise County Sheriff Cary Mellema. Along with Judge Clark, Mayor Rodney Holmes, Rep Andy Hopper, Peter Plank (whom escorted Charlie to Normandy last year), a spokesperson for the Patriot Guard Riders, and the entire Boyd School system, gave honor to our special veteran honoring his 100th birthday. Charlie had his family in attendance to include relatives from Germany, Switzerland, and Italy.

Charles Braun , WWII Veteran, was honored in Boyd with a parade for his 100th birthday! He was driven by Sheriff Cary Mellema, and followed by Rep Andy Hopper, Boyd Mayor Rodney Holmes, the Wise County Veterans Group, the Patriot Guards Motorcycle Group, the Boyd Police Department, the Boyd Fire Department, and several others. He was greeted by many Wise County folks and most of the Boyd School kids and teachers. The honoring of Charles Braun is in the next set of pictures to be posted.

Charles Braun, our WWII Veteran who also served in Korea & Vietnam, will be celebrating his 100th birthday at Raising Cane's this Saturday, September 12th! Come join us there (across from Texas Motor Speedway)! Charles will be there from noon - 4:00pm. Have a bite to eat as a percentage of sales during that time will be donated to our Veterans Group. And have a piece of cake while you're at it! Charlie would love the company!!

The Wise County Veterans Memorial Museum is open Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday noon to 4:00pm, as well as the third Saturday of every month!! Come take a tour!!

(recommend you get there at 7:30am for breakfast if you want some extra coffee and chit chat time)
