4-H & FFA steer & heifer exhibitors don’t forget - this Saturday we will be hosting a hoof trimming at the Wise County Fairgrounds!

The scales will be on and the ring will be open to practice showmanship! Please bring your own shovel to clean up after your calves!

A BIG CONGRATULATIONS is in order for our 4 amazing senior participants who advanced to the State Record Book judging!

Advancing to the state level is no easy feat and we are PROUD of our members!

James & Oakley qualified for the Texas 4-H Leadership Conference in Washington D.C. this November! These two have just begun their senior year with a BANG! If you're interested in assisting in sponsoring their trip, please contact the Extension Office at 940-627-3341 and speak with Karly!

🍀 What Is a 4-H Record Book?

A 4-H Record Book is a year-long record of a member’s 4-H experience. Members use their record book to document their projects, goals, activities, leadership, community service, achievements, and what they learned throughout the year.

Record books help members develop important skills like goal setting, record keeping, communication, reflection, and organization. They also give members the opportunity to look back and see how much they have grown through their 4-H experiences!

The best part about record books is they can help prepare members for their future! The experiences and accomplishments documented in a record book can provide valuable information when completing scholarship applications, resumes, college applications, and award applications. They can also help members recognize experiences that may qualify them for additional 4-H leadership opportunities, contests, and programs such as the Texas 4-H Leadership Conference.
