🚨 UPDATE ON APOLLO’S FACILITY & AC ISSUES 🚨
We want to give everyone a clear update on what’s happening at our facility.
Our building is approximately 10 years old, and after having multiple people evaluate the facility, we’ve learned that our AC units are struggling because the building itself needs repairs.
• Our dogs are housed inside a 150’ x 40’ building
• ❄️ We currently have 4 working AC units, but they are struggling to keep up
• The insulation is worn down, with several areas where heat is getting into the building
• Parts of the metal structure are beginning to erode and crack
• One immediate repair alone replacing a coil in a north-end AC unit
Insulation will be our first major step. Once we get the building properly insulated and the facility is cooling more efficiently, we can begin tackling the additional structural and mechanical repairs.
This is not going to be a one-and-done repair. It will be an ongoing, costly process, but it is necessary to protect the dogs in our care and make this building sustainable for the summers ahead.
Your donations are going directly toward these facility repairs, starting with the insulation.
We currently have 54 dogs who will need to be temporarily relocated for approximately 48 hours while work is completed. Some dogs are already boarding with K9 Kind, and we are incredibly grateful for their help.
💚 HOW YOU CAN HELP:
• Donate toward the facility repairs
• Volunteer to help with cleaning and facility work as repairs begin
If you are able to volunteer, please reach out to us. We are going to need our Apollo community behind us as we work through this.
This is going to take time, but we are committed to getting this building back where it needs to be for the dogs who depend on us. 🐾
Thank you to everyone that has donated and shared , we are incredibly grateful
