Sharing an update on the Shelbville Loop the Lake ride, which is expected to return in 2027:

In 2025, the Loop event was canceled due to staffing issues. They planned on bringing the ride back in 2026, but finding a date was more difficult than anticipated.
They have postponed the Loop event once again this year and plan to return in 2027.

Have an old kid's bike taking up space? Donate it to Toys for Tots this holiday season!

Drop off used bikes for donation at Decatur Bicycle Shop, 1230 E. Pershing Road. The shop is open Tuesday-Saturday, and seasonal operating hours may be different, so call (217) 875-3271 to confirm when the shop is able to accept donations.

Bikes can be sized for toddlers to teenagers and in any condition. Drop off bikes by Saturday, Nov. 28. For more information, contact the Decatur Bicycle Club at [email protected].

The bikes will be repaired, with the costs and repairs covered by the club and by members. The bikes are provided to the Salvation Army for distribution to area children through the Decatur and Macon County Toys for Tots campaign.

The Decatur Bicycle Club has been donating bikes during the holidays for several years. A special thank you to Decatur Bicycle Shoppe for your support!

If you have any feedback about the event, please share it with us at [email protected].

If you have any photos, please share them in the comments!
