From 120 Disciples to a Movement Transforming Nations

Think about the momentum. The church started with Jesus announcing to his 11 disciples, and then it grew to 120 that He told to wait until they be endued with power from on high. And then it overflowed out into the streets and it spread to 3,000.

This momentum was engulfing the lives of thousands upon thousands, for this is not the only instance of this happening in the early church. So I submit to you today that the church is not called merely to occupy space or to occupy a building, but we are here to make a difference in entire nations.

The gateway to the heart is the mind. When Jesus gave us the key of the power of faith that unlocks success for every person, He said it would work if there was no doubt in our hearts. He was saying that our thoughts must be engaged with our words. Words are required to activate faith, but thoughts are required to sustain our faith so we can attain our goals in life.

Want to Change Nations? Start Right Where You Are

I submit to you today that the church is not called merely to occupy space or to occupy a building, but we are here to make a difference in entire nations.

Many years ago, someone asked Daisy Osborn, "How do I get to China? I believe I'm called to be a missionary to China." Well, folks, she said this and I agree. I concur.

"If you want to go to China, get busy doing what you can do here today in the name of Jesus."

Facing Challenges: When Action Speaks Louder Than Prayer 🙏

We changed our itinerary, our tickets. We had no money. We got out there, and our contact was under surveillance, and couldn't take the books and the Bibles. But Kevin said, "Leslie, this is not the time to pray." You see, sometimes the church is trapped in prayer, trapped waiting for an answer to prayer, and in reality, you are the answer to the prayer, and your action, your activity, your movement, your obeying the commission puts God in a position that He has to back you up, and He'll come through for you when you least expect it.

God Commissioned YOU to Share the Gospel—not Angels

We are praying, "Father God, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in heaven." And as we pray that, we don't wait for angels to do the work. We don't send the angels to win the lost. Sure they can help us in the process. But God didn't commission angels to preach the gospel, He commissioned you and me to share the Good News.

Your freedom can be lost if you lose control of your thought life. What God did with your spirit is perfect, holy, righteous, and complete, but what you do with your thoughts is your choice. Romans 12:2 tells us not to be conformed to this world, but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds to what God says, not the world. The objective of mass media is to capture and direct your thoughts in a certain direction. They know that if people pay attention to something long enough, they will desire and act on what they think about. Center your thoughts on God’s Word and let it create possibilities in your heart as you learn to see the beauty of life!

The message of Jesus hasn’t changed in 2,000 years, and the fields are already white. The gospel itself is the power. Sickness and sin were dealt with in the same place, on the same cross, and the same faith that receives one receives the other.

We are to gird up the loins of our minds (1 Peter 1:13). That means we are to control them or prepare them for action. How? By putting good thoughts in from God’s Word and thinking on the good we want to have and do in the future!
