PORA Board Expands Leadership; New Directors Appointed as Organization Enters “PORA 2.0”
The Board of Directors of the Property Owners and Residents Association (PORA) met in Executive Session on March 2, 2026, where the Board voted to amend its bylaws to expand the Board of Directors from five (5) members to seven (7) members. The change is intended to broaden leadership capacity and strengthen governance as PORA enters a new chapter of organizational development.
During that session, the Board appointed Jim Scott, Dennis Horvath, and Michael McInnes to serve as Directors.
At the conclusion of the March 2 session, Ralph Johnson and David Hunter announced their resignations, as did Rosemary Doughtery earlier, from the Board of Directors.
PORA extends its sincere gratitude to Ralph Johnson, David Hunter, and Rosemary Doughtery for their service and dedication to the organization and the Sun City West community. Their contributions helped guide PORA through an important period in its history.
TODAY, March 4, 2026, marks Day One of what leadership is calling “PORA 2.0.” In an Executive Session held today, the Board of Directors appointed Natalie Putnam and Cindy Freitag to fill the current vacancies on the expanded seven-member board.
To ensure transparency and member participation in this transition, PORA will hold a Membership Ratification Vote:
Date: March 16, 2026
Time: 10:00 AM
Location: RH Johnson Lecture Hall, Sun City West
Members will have the opportunity to ratify the current board appointments or consider additional candidates. Any interested member must apply to be a board candidate by submitting their Board Candidate Application to the PORA office no later than March 13, 2026.
PORA encourages all interested members to participate in this important governance process and invites qualified residents to step forward to help shape the future of this critical community organization.
“This moment represents a renewed commitment to transparency, community engagement, and forward-looking leadership,” said board representatives. “We encourage residents to attend the March 16 meeting and be part of this next chapter.”
For more information or to submit a board candidate application, members should contact the PORA office directly.
