We recently had the opportunity to discuss police recruitment while touching on a few key points about the profession of public safety in law-enforcement. Law enforcement officers have thousands of positive interactions within our communities for every single negative interaction. Elected an appointed government officials, managers, and administrators, need to do a better job of promoting the exceptional work done by law-enforcement officers on a daily basis. When the only highlight reels are the few negative interactions, it brings an unfavorable image to the government’s ability to provide public safety. Simply promoting the good work done on a daily basis helps instill a positive perception of law-enforcement and in turn promotes public trust and will draw quality men and women to the profession.

We are pleased to help host a group and individual crisis intervention training next month through Prevention Awareness Support Services (PASS).

This training helps us provide peer support for first responders from first responders, lowering stigma and improving mental health outcomes after acute and cumulative trauma related to both employment and personal life. It’s an important part in keeping our first responders healthy and ready to serve from their first day through retirement.

The class is FREE and is open to all first responders, emergency personnel, corrections staff, retirees, and civilian employees of these agencies. Local agencies have the opportunity to join the Greater Montgomery County CISM & Peer Support team.

Questions? Please message us for additional information. The registration form can be found by using the QR code on the flyer.

We had a fantastic invitation to sit down with two of Dayton‘s best criminal defense attorneys to discuss all things public safety, and law-enforcement related. Dayton FOP President Sergeant Kyle Thomas was able to openly discuss current issues and topics that normal media fails to report on accurately and openly. It was a fantastic venue and we look forward to future discussions on important topics relating to public safety.

This week we were joined in the stud...
