"I was terminated 1 WEEK before the end of my probation period…"
A painter at the VA came into work yesterday, and after several hours of work, checked his email to find that he had been terminated.
“What brought me to the VA was a good job, great benefits, and a welcoming place to work.”
When asked if he had any memorable encounters with veterans on campus, he stated “One guy you know, he was sitting by himself, he looked lost. I had the best conversation with them. I talked to him for probably an hour. And, you know, just learning about his situation, more about his life, and just cool, cool stories.”
These illegal firings of probationary employees are impacting the lives of people who not only put in outstanding work but who truly care for the veterans we serve.
