The Dayton Police Officers Association proudly presented scholarships to two deserving recipients, Amy Canales and Sydney Nations, as part of our first annual scholarship giveaway.

The selection process was highly competitive, with numerous applications submitted by many outstanding and qualified candidates. We are honored to support these students and invest in their future success.

We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to Dayton City Manager Derek Woods and Dayton Chief of Police Shane Burleigh for providing us the opportunity to present these scholarships during the monthly City Council meeting.

Additionally, we would like to sincerely thank our community for continually supporting our events and fundraising efforts. Your support makes opportunities like this possible, and we look forward to continuing to give back to the community we proudly serve.

Today, we pause to honor the brave men and women of law enforcement who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Their courage, dedication, and unwavering commitment to protecting our communities will never be forgotten.

To the fallen heroes — we remember you.
To the families who carry their legacy — we stand with you.
To every peace officer serving today — thank you for your service.

May we always honor their memory and uphold the values they fought to protect.

This past weekend was a true reminder of what makes our community so special.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Anna Smith and Sheree Fanguy Woodard for allowing the Dayton Police Officers Association to be a part of Dayton Ole Tyme Days. It was an honor to stand alongside our community and share in such a meaningful tradition.

We are also deeply grateful to TMPA for generously allowing us to use your BBQ pit. Your support played a big role in making our participation possible, and we truly appreciate it.

A sincere thank you to our donors and sponsors — Thrif-Tee Food Center, Chubby's Packing Company LLC, and Weaver's BBQ. Your generosity and support helped us serve our community and be part of something special.

We are proud to serve a community that continues to show such kindness, support, and unity. Thank you all for making this weekend one to remember.

Today, April 11, 2026, we invite you to come out and support the Dayton Police Officers Association.

We’re more than just a department — we’re part of this community, and moments like this remind us how important it is to come together. Every conversation, every handshake, and every shared meal helps strengthen the bond between law enforcement and the people we proudly serve.

Stop by and enjoy a sausage on a stick, chips, and a drink for just $10. All proceeds go directly back into our community, helping us continue to give back and build meaningful connections.

We’d also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to TMPA for allowing us to use their amazing BBQ trailer — your support truly helps make events like this possible.

We appreciate each and every one of you and hope to see you out there. 💙
