Today we are closing a chapter that has forever changed our hearts.

For a little over 20 years, Puppy Dogs R US was never just a shelter — it was a promise. A promise to love, protect, and fight for the ones who couldn’t speak for themselves. As a nonprofit no-kill rescue, we had the honor of helping over 7,000 dogs and nearly 1,000 cats find safety, healing, and loving homes. Each one had a story. Each one mattered. And every single life changed us in return.

From broken spirits to second chances, from fear to trust, from rescue to forever homes — we witnessed miracles every single day. None of this would have been possible without the incredible support of our community. Our volunteers, fosters, adopters, donors, supporters, and everyone who shared our mission — you were the heartbeat of Puppy Dogs R US.

While this chapter is coming to a close, the impact of these past two decades will live on through every family who found their best friend, every animal who knew love because of this place, and every life that was forever changed.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for believing in us, standing beside us, and helping us make a difference when it mattered most. This may be goodbye to Puppy Dogs R US, but the love, the memories, and the legacy will always remain.

I know it's been a while since I've posted but please know I am busy and trying to keep my heads above water.

We have these 6 pups left that are needing homes. If you could please share and hopefully we can find them a forever home.

Our needs at this time are:
*Dog food (Purina dog chow (green bag)), which an be ordered online to Tractor Supply in Liberty.
*Fleece Blankets and Towels
*Funds to help pay on the vet bill at Dayton Vet Clinic that would help tremendously! Just be sure to say the funds are for Puppy Dogs R Us.
*Donations are always welcomed for other pup needs.

UPDATE: This poor boy just passed.

🚨 Found Injured Dog – Please Help!🚨
I found this sweet pup lying in the middle of CR 6021 after being hit by a vehicle. I couldn’t just leave them there, so I scooped them up and took them straight to the vet to get checked out.
If this is your dog or you recognize them, please reach out to me ASAP. I’d love to get them back to their family.
The vet visit isn’t cheap, and I wasn’t prepared for the unexpected cost. If you feel led to help cover the vet bill, anything would be appreciated. You can Venmo me at .

A Heartfelt Reunion for Riley 🐾❤️

Three years ago, a tough choice had to be made — college or keeping his beloved dog. Riley’s owner chose college, hoping it would lead to a better future, but never stopped thinking about his furry best friend.

Today, that chapter comes full circle. Riley, who was just a 6-week-old pup when they first met, is now nearly 9 years old and finally back in the arms of the person who’s loved him from the very beginning. 🥹💕

He’s heading home to a life full of love, comfort, and a brand new little sister to play with! 🐶🐾

Riley, you’ve been such a joy and you’ll be missed here — but we couldn’t be happier for you. Wishing you all the love and happiness in this beautiful new chapter. 💙

Please read carefully and please help if possible. We are NO longer taking in anymore cats or dogs. PLEASE do not inbox us to ask if we are taking in any, we just can't. We are having a hard enough time trying to feed and do vet checks for them. I am nearly 70 years old working my fingers to the bone to feed and care for them with no help. This leaves me working many different jobs just to make it. No one seems interested in the dogs that we do have up for adoption, therefore these dogs will continue to be fed and cared for only by me, which is a struggle. We have also been looking into other rescue groups that might be able to take them, it's been hard for all rescuers so please give us a break.

If you do want to help consider buying dog food from Tractor Supply under our name (PUPPY DOGS R US/ Margie Michalsky) or by calling Dayton Veterinary at 936-258-3232 (PUPPY DOGS R US/ Margie Michalsky) and paying on one of the many outstanding bills I have for the dogs. Or you can send money using Venmo so we can update their bedding, toys or whatever items we will be needing with the colder weather coming in.

I do want to say a HUGE THANK YOU to those of you that have contributed to help one way or another, it's been helpful.

Please accept my apologies if this seems like a rant but I'm tired and in the long run I'm just looking to find these babies a good home.

He's a shy boy when meeting new people but comes out of his shell pretty quickly. He's loveable, loves to play and gets along with other dogs. He is crate trained, neutered and up to date on his shots and is also microchipped.

To those that call me about a do that you have found and want me to take in, I unfortunately, am not able to take in any animals any longer.

I hate to have to write this up but because I no longer have any help (as in the last 3.5 years) I will not be able to take in any more animals. I have about 10 dogs on my property that I need help with finding forever homes for. I can no longer afford to feed and vet all of them, as I do my best to do so by myself.

I really do appreciate the donations that I receive, it helps with food and vet bills.
