We had Reagan at the vet yesterday for a full check-up. She weighs 75 lbs and they estimate she’s around 4 years old. If her big smile doesn’t give it away, she absolutely loved being there and meeting new people.

Unfortunately, Reagan did test heartworm positive. While it wasn’t unexpected, it’s still tough news to hear. Her skin and coat will take time to heal and her teeth are pretty worn down, likely from chewing and nibbling at herself for so long.

When Reagan was rescued, there was some concern about how bloated her belly looked. She ended up throwing up quite a bit of trash at intake so the vet performed an ultrasound just to be safe. Thankfully, they found no additional concerns.

For now, Reagan will continue her antibiotics, supplements and medicated baths while her skin heals. Once she’s healthy enough, she’ll be spayed and begin heartworm treatment.

We really appreciate everyone that donated towards Reagan’s medical care 💜🩺 Thank you!!

We’ve had some incredible dogs find amazing homes. We know many of you love following their rescue journey so we are always excited to share their adoption updates with you!

Some of these are very recent adoptions and some are new updates we’ve received from adopters over the last couple months. All these faces were let down at one point in their life and now they’ll never have to experience that feeling again 💜

Streethearts Project does not do direct adoptions. We focus solely on providing medical care and preparing dogs for adoption. Special thanks to our rescue partners who put in the hard work of carefully placing them into loving homes and matching them with the right families - Gals Best Pal, Lola's Lucky Day, Texas Bark Squad & Dodge County Humane Society!

We rescued Shiloh last year and sponsored her vet care 🤎 Thank you The Dodo for sharing her rescue story! With the help of Texas Bark Squad, she is now living a life full of love with her new family!

We had Hudson at the vet today to check on some skin issues he’s been dealing with. His skin is scabby and his coat was thinning but we’ll have this sweet boy feeling better soon!

The medicated baths and Nexgard he received are already helping and the vet prescribed an antibiotic and a steroid to help give him some additional relief. Hudson is on a salmon-based diet along with skin supplements to help support his recovery.

We also noticed Hudson started limping yesterday and discovered a small tear in one of his front paw pads. We’re keeping it clean and will continue monitoring it while it heals.

The vet estimates Hudson to be around 4–5 years old. He weighs 71 lbs and we’re happy to share that he tested heartworm negative! He also received his rabies vaccine and started heartworm prevention today. Once his skin has healed, we’ll get him on the schedule for a neuter.

Donations are what allows us to help provide medical care to dogs in need. If anyone would like to make a small donation towards Hudson’s care, please use any of the methods below!

On Sunday, one of our team members was out running errands when this little guy ran out in front of her vehicle. Miraculously, her SUV must of straddled him leaving him unharmed! She quickly got him off the road and kept him safe.

We shared him in local Facebook groups in attempt to find his owner. Instead we came across other sighting posts of him wandering around the McDonalds and other local businesses. Unfortunately, none of those posts lead to an owner.

On Monday, we reached out to the local animal shelter and learned someone had called them Friday about a similar missing dog but no contact information was left. This meant someone was looking for him!

We had him scanned for a microchip and he had one! His name was Wilson and he was 10 years old. We contacted the phone number listed and they responded they didn’t own a dog. Odd. We tried the second number listed and it was his owner. Wilson had been missing for 4 days. He explained the other number used to be his wife’s line who’s now deceased 🥺

Wilson was very much missed by his dad and doggy sister!! It was a happy reunion for all. We were able to help him update his information with the chip company and we’ll be getting Wilson a new tag for his collar. His sister was wearing a tag but unfortunately Wilson keeps losing his.

This is another great reminder how important it is to have your pets microchipped and keep that information up to date. Wilson is back home because of his microchip! ❤️

We want to show you what your donations are helping accomplish! 🐾🩺💜

So far in 2026, we’ve spent $5,800 helping dogs in our community. These photos are some of the sweet faces we’ve been able to help behind the scenes because of your support!

Our mission goes beyond rescue. We believe in community outreach and supporting owners and independent fosters who are doing everything they can to help a dog in their care. Your donations allow us to step in and assist with:
✨ Veterinary care
✨ Spay & Neuter
✨ Microchipping
✨ Heartworm testing/treatment
✨ Emergency medical needs

Sometimes it’s an owner who simply needs a little help to keep their beloved pet. Sometimes it’s an independent foster who opened their home without hesitation. No matter the situation, your generosity is what makes our mission possible - Thank you!

If you’d like to help us continue making a difference, ways to donate below or simply share our posts! Every dollar goes directly to helping dogs like these.

Thanks to all your support, we were able to donate 40+ bags of dog and cat food to Baytown Meals on Wheels pet food pantry for seniors and their beloved pets! 🐾

For many seniors, their pets are their only family and food donations help keep them together. These donations also help ensure that no senior has to choose between feeding themselves and feeding their companion.

We are so grateful to be part of a community that cares. If you’d like to contribute to their pet food pantry, you can donate directly from the Amazon Wishlist or visit the link below

Winnie was found at a park in December. Someone waited there with her for hours but no one returned for her. Instead of going to the shelter, she was lucky enough to find a good foster home. Winnie has received all her vetting. She’s is microchipped, spayed and Heartworm negative. Winnie is about a year old and weighs 45lbs.

Winnie is seeking a rescue group to help her find the best home! She has a committed foster and all vetting is sponsored.

Bio from foster mom: “Winnie is a very friendly, happy dog who absolutely loves other dogs. She is very enthusiastic about playtime with lots of licking and puppy-style excitement with other dogs. She also loves people, though she can be a little shy at first.

She’s active, playful, and would do best with someone who enjoys keeping a young dog engaged. She does great in her crate at night and sleeps quietly. During the day, she may cry a little when left alone, but she’s improving. She is house trained and has not had any accidents inside. Having other dogs around has helped her learn the routine quickly.

Like many puppies, she’s still learning manners. She enjoys digging holes, stealing socks (and trying to eat them!), and sometimes needs correction for chewing on things. With continued guidance and consistency, she’s learning and making progress every day!”
