Every year, The North Oakland Regional Chambers Association hosts the Dixie Byway Cruise and Car Show. This year, for the first time, they charged a registration fee. And they chose to donate the proceeds to The Deegan Project! 🥹

The weather was perfect, the food trucks had amazing food…they even had live music this year! The turnout was incredible! We had a great time chatting with so many who’ve supported us from day one, and meeting so many new faces.

To The Chamber, every person who showed up today, and every person who stopped by to say hello…we’re grateful for every one of you, and the role you play in helping us keep Deegan’s legacy alive.

People sometimes say, “It must be so hard to share his story.” The truth is, I’m honored to be Deegan’s voice. No matter how much effort people might put into quieting me.

To the person who sent this to me: I’m so incredibly sorry that you’re hurting so badly this is the place you’re looking to find happiness. I hope you find the healing you need.

TIME TO SHOW UP AND SHOW OUT!

Classic car owners and enthusiast alike - come out to the 2024 Dixie Byway Car Show and Cruise Saturday, October 10, 2026. Gather with your classic car at Waypoint Church at 8:30 am to begin the Cruise at 9:30 am up to Mt. Holly. Car Show is from 10 am to 2 pm. The public is welcome to watch the cruise at any point along The Dixie Byway, and then check out the cars in person at Mt. Holly.

We have partnered with The Deegan Project. They are one of our Chamber Members.

Deegan Walton was just like any high school boy, until the day he ended his life in a tragic auto accident. His family created The Deegan Project, a Michigan registered non-profit, with the mission of helping to end the stigma that surrounds mental health by providing education, raising awareness, and providing resources to teens struggling with mental health issues.

We are charging a $10 registration fee this year and will be donating half the proceeds from the registrations to The Deegan Project. Advance registrations will also be entered in a special drawing with a prize of $200. You have to be advance registered to be entered.
