Here’s an update from the vet exam:
-tons of fleas/ some ticks
-pressure sores from sitting/ laying on bony prominences while being underweight
-back hind leg wound from dog bite & pus dripping from the inner part of the leg so likely abscess (really close to the knee joint so will keep an eye on it)
-healing nose wound likely from dog bite
-no punctures in mouth
-generalized scrapes/ scabs
-tar/grease/dirt stuck on coat
Doing a bath, clavamox, rimadyl for pain from wound and to help w inflammation, clip and clean of wounds, capstar/nexgard, running 4DX w basic chem and f***l
Unfortunately he’s also heartworm positive which costs approximately $700 to treat (we’ll include a video in case anyone wants to see what they look like under the microscope 😷)
Obviously he wasn’t on heartworm prevention since he was a homeless street dog but this is a good reminder of why it’s important to have dogs tested and on prev as it can be deadly😔
He’s estimated to be 3 years old, 71 lbs and is very sweet ❤️
