This Mother's Day, meet the moms on the front lines of abortion access in Texas. They work at abortion funds across the state. They answer calls, cover costs, and show up every day for Texans in crisis. They do this work because they are mothers who want to create a bright future for their children and communities.

This Mother's Day, we remember Rosie Jiménez. A young Chicana mother, a college student, a dreamer from McAllen, Texas. In 1977, she died from an unsafe abortion because Medicaid wouldn't cover her care. She is the first person we know of who died because of the Hyde Amendment.

Her name belongs on this bill.

Rosie's Law would require all Texas insurance plans to fully cover abortion, contraception, and reproductive health care, with no copays, no deductibles, and no barriers. Even under Texas' current abortion bans, this law would expand contraceptive coverage for every Texan with insurance right now.
