ver before! The Outdoor Learning Lab is operated by Daleville Community Schools and is located behind the high school track. It is open to the community during non-school hours dusk to dawn unless otherwise arranged by emailing [email protected]

School rules remain in effect for park use, not limited to tobacco/alcohol/vaping prohibited, appropriate social interactions, etc. Please park in the high school parking lot & walk through the wisteria tunnel to enter. Please plan ahead for restroom use, as bathrooms are not available to the public at this time unless specified for events. Picnics are welcomed and encouraged, but please carry out your own trash to lend a hand in caring for this beautiful space. Got an event? Reserve a space in the lab or the whole lab with this form:

RISK: Stepping onto the property of Outdoor Learning Lab, you assume all liability. The nature of the park promotes a healthy incorporation of risk in play through loose parts and open-ended play. The area is intended for children of diverse ages and capabilities - every area may not be suitable for every child and depends on their abilities. Adult supervision is required at all times to help provide discretion as children learn, grow, explore, and take risks. We are so excited to have our community come see our space and enjoy a fun filled day of outdoor play!

We're looking forward to exploring the Outdoor Learning Lab during our next More to Explore in Muncie adventure!

Join us on Wednesday, June 24, at 10 AM for a morning of outdoor fun and discovery. Families can explore at their own pace across five acres of engaging outdoor spaces, including an apple orchard, gardens, play areas, swings, co****le, sand volleyball, a stage, and more.

Hungry after exploring? Freshly baked wood-fired pizzas will be available for purchase from the Pizza Garden for just $5 each!

Another week in the sun and rain! Our second and final week of the Outdoor Learning Lab’s first summer program has officially come to an end. This week, students learned how to identify bugs and birds, learned how birds and dinosaurs are connected, continued to tend to our vegetables, helped search a pile of tree branches for remaining wildlife before it was burned, played with sprinklers and water balloons to cool off, painted and built a birdhouse and bug hotel, and made garlic butter which they enjoyed on some garlic bread over the open fire. A large portion of time was also dedicated to imaginative play that helped build important social skills and sit spots that helped them build mindfulness and attention span. We hope you enjoyed our first dip into summer programs, hope you’ll return to enjoy the space on your own, and hope you’ll keep on the lookout for announcements of future events!

If you come out to enjoy our space, we would like to remind everyone to please clean up after yourself and respect the space. Leave the confetti at home, thanks! Also, much like the park in Daleville, we do have a process for parties so that we can have someone here to help you with set up and clean up - please message us for additional information!

Happy first week of summer! Starting on Tuesday, a few Daleville students joined us for the Outdoor Learning Lab’s first summer program. Students learned how to identify native plants, looked at soil through a microscope, played in the mud, removed weeds, and helped to plant melons, cantaloupe, pumpkins and beans for everyone to enjoy! Can’t wait to see what the students get up to next week!
