The Bertie County Animal Shelter was denied a renewal permit at the end of last month.

We are so grateful for all the support we have been receiving and wanted to take a few minutes to acknowledge what that means to us.💕

Our friends at Humane Society of Eastern Carolina swooped in and gave us much needed help by pulling 2 dogs and 23 cats🎉 That opened up 2 dog kennels and 11 cat cages! So many fosters have bridged the gap with our kittens as well; for that we are so appreciative. 👏

Our community has also sent/brought snacks for our team which helps keep them fueled to care for the remaining shelter animals.

If you are looking for ways to help, please reach out to our team and we will find the perfect fit for you. If you have a few spare hours in the morning and love to clean and care for animals, we will happily show you the ropes. The dogs, cats, rabbits, and whatever else we may have at the moment will enjoy having new faces. We are always looking for fosters and dog walkers as well. Our core group of dog walkers, who are an integral part of our dog care team, will gladly help you get started on your path to meeting your step challenge🚶🚶‍♀️
