We are still looking for foster or foster-to-adopt home for these guys.
They have all come so far in a short time. Being in a home environment with another dog would be extremely helpful in helping them move forward. Please let us know if you are interested.

🐾 BIG MIKE NEEDS A VERY SPECIAL FOSTER 🐾

Sometimes rescue doesn't look like bringing a dog into a home and immediately giving them the life we picture.

Sometimes, rescue looks like meeting them where they are.

Meet Big Mike. ❤️

Big Mike is an older dog who has spent his entire life living outside. Because of that, we're looking for a very special foster who understands that his needs may look a little different.

Big Mike needs a safe, secure, fenced-in yard that he can call home. Someone willing to give him a place to rest, eat, feel safe, and simply be. We aren't looking for someone to force him to suddenly become something he has never had the chance to be.

We just need someone willing to give this older boy a safe place and a little piece of the world to call his own. ❤️

🏡 What Big Mike needs:
🐾 A securely fenced yard
🐾 A safe place to sleep and seek shelter from the weather
🐾 Someone willing to provide food, water, and basic care
🐾 Patience and understanding

Our sweet Lola has officially found her forever home! 🥹❤️

Lola has always had such a gentle, loving soul, and we are absolutely thrilled that she now gets to spend the rest of her life being spoiled exactly the way she deserves.

Her new family has chosen to keep their adoption private, so we’re sharing Lola’s professional photo to celebrate her happy news while respecting their privacy. 🐾❤️

We are so grateful to the family who saw Lola, chose her, and gave her the happily-ever-after we’ve been hoping for.

🐾❤️ **PUP DATE: WARRIOR, AKA DODGER!** ❤️🐾

We received a wonderful update on our sweet Warrior, now known as **Dodger**, and we are so excited to share it with everyone!

We'll let his amazing adopter take it from here. 🥹🐾

*“Hello! I just wanted to give a formal update about ‘Warrior,’ aka Dodger. He’s 6 months old and such a sweet puppy! He’s completely different from any dog I’ve ever had—the biggest being that he’s a canine vacuum—lol!*

*He’s headstrong and happy-go-lucky simultaneously, which is something funny to me, but honestly, I am the same way… soooo… 🙃*

*He’s incredibly smart and learns wicked fast. He’s also in Wendy’s training classes and will continue!*

*We are finding his ‘off’ switch, and usually snuggles on the couch work the best. He cuddles up and starts snoring almost immediately.*

*I’m so grateful to you all for everything you do and for the opportunity that was given to me to adopt him. It was a great experience from the get-go. Madison is amazing, and we are still in contact.”*

This is exactly why rescue is so special. There is nothing better than watching a dog who once needed us grow into a happy, loved member of someone's family.

Warrior may have gotten a new name, but he will always be one of our rescue babies. ❤️

Just a reminder, Beau's Law will become official October 1st, 2026.
It is a win for the dogs that are stuck on a chain/cable in our community.
We believe dogs should be included as part of the family, unfortunately, some dogs don't get that. Beau's Law is a step in the right direction for those dogs left outside of a home.

Alabama’s new Beau’s Law, Senate Bill 361, will take effect October 1, 2026, establishing requirements for the care, shelter, confinement and tethering of dogs.

The Cullman Police Department is informing the public about the new law and the requirements dog owners will need to follow.

STATE LAW CRITERIA

🍽️ Food & Water
Owners must provide dogs with adequate food and potable water at suitable intervals and in sufficient amounts to prevent starvation or dehydration.

🏠 Adequate Shelter
Dogs kept outdoors must have adequate shelter that protects them from the elements. The shelter must have a roof, walls and a floor and provide enough space for the dog to comfortably stand, turn around, lie down and extend its limbs. The shelter must also be adequately ventilated and kept free of accumulated waste and standing water.

🐕 Enclosure & Movement
Dogs kept in outdoor enclosures must be provided adequate space to move freely and must be kept within a secure, fully fenced enclosure.

⚠️ TETHERING RULES

Banned Equipment:
The law prohibits the use of logging chains, choke collars and pinch collars to tether a dog.

Safe Tethers:
When a dog is tethered to a stationary object, the tether must use a trolley system that meets the requirements of the law. The tether must have a swivel on both ends to minimize tangling and must be attached to a properly fitted collar or harness.

Boundaries:
A tether may not allow the dog to leave the owner’s property, become entangled with other objects or animals, or extend over an object or edge that could cause injury or strangulation.

⚖️ PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS

First Offense: Class C misdemeanor — up to 3 months in jail and a fine of up to $500

Second Offense: Class B misdemeanor — up to 6 months in jail and a fine of up to $3,000

Third & Subsequent Offenses: Class A misdemeanor — up to 1 year in jail and a fine of up to $6,000

The law includes specific exceptions for certain circumstances, including veterinary practices, animal shelters, boarding kennels, lawful dog training, service or assistance dogs, grooming facilities, temporary circumstances and dogs being walked on a leash.

The Cullman Police Department encourages all dog owners to familiarize themselves with Beau’s Law before it takes effect on October 1, 2026.

Responsible pet ownership means providing our animals with proper care, protection, food, water and shelter.
