It’s always fun to bring the Brainerd Lakes Chamber Board of Directors to Crosslake! Thank you Crosslake Log Village for hosting the meeting!

Thank you Crosslake Log Village for hosting the Chamber Board of Directors this morning! It was a beautiful—albeit chilly!—change of venue for our monthly board meeting. We appreciated hearing updates from Crosslake Chamber of Commerce Director Cindy Myogeto, Log Village Board member Bob Ruff, and National Loon Center Director Jon Mobeck.
There is so much exciting momentum happening in Crosslake, and we're grateful for the opportunity to collaborate and learn more about what is happening in this vibrant community.

CROSS/DAGGETT BRIDGE UPDATE:
The concrete approach panels and joint repair work is now complete. In addition, the traffic control signals have been upgraded, and the emergency vehicle preemption is now active.

Next Week: June 22-26
The contractor is scheduled to pour the concrete driving surface (low slump overlay) near midweek. This specialized concrete has low permeability and resists water/chloride absorption. Due to its specialized design and performance requirements, it requires an extended cure time between 7-10 days to allow the concrete to gain enough strength for work to resume on the bridge deck.

CROSS/DAGGETT BRIDGE UPDATE:
The CSAH 66 Bridge Rehabilitation Project got off to a strong start last week. As requested, traffic control was installed to accommodate work on the east side of the bridge. The crew started by grinding off the existing concrete bridge surface. Once the surface was removed, they were able to identify areas of concrete that had deteriorated due to long-term water and salt exposure. The contractor removed the deteriorated concrete and completed the necessary forming for the structural repairs.

THIS WEEK:
The contractor is scheduled to pour concrete on Monday to complete the bridge deck repairs. Once those repairs are finished, the crew will shift focus to forming and pouring new concrete approach panels for the bridge. In addition, the traffic control signals will be upgraded to include emergency vehicle preemption capabilities. This technology allows emergency vehicles to activate the signal system during emergency responses, helping them move through the construction zone more safely and efficiently.

A big thank you to Kicks On Route 66 for hosting our June Chamber meeting! 🎨⭐

We enjoyed gathering with over 30 of our local chamber members in this creative space networking and learning more about everything they offer, including art classes, paint-and-sip events, private parties, repurposed furniture, local artwork, unique gifts, DIY instruction, and art supplies for creators of all skill levels.

We will not have a meeting in July because of the holiday weekend so join us for the next Crosslake Chamber meeting on Thursday, August 6 7:45-9 AM at the Crosslake Log Village!
