Dixie FFA Alumni Annual Meeting & Election

This will be the Alumni’s annual meeting and election. Seats up for election this year are President (currently held by John Driggers) and Secretary (currently held by Kassie Keen).
Per our Alumni’s Constitution & Bylaws:
PRESIDENT – presides over alumni meetings; represents the alumni at local activities; appoint committees as needed to conduct the business of the alumni; shall be an ex officio member of all committees.
SECRETARY – Shall be responsible for advertising alumni meetings and keeping minutes at said meetings; shall be responsible for all correspondence; shall maintain communications with other national and local alumni groups. Minutes of each regular meeting will be available for review and approval at each following meeting.
Section 2. Nomination and Selection of Officers. The President will appoint a nominating committee composed of 3 alumni members not running for election prior to the annual meeting. Persons interested in serving as an officer shall make application by submitting their name to the current President, who will in turn present the names to the nominating committee for consideration. The nominating committee will then confer and present a final list of names to the alumni for voting. Names must be received no later than 24 hours prior to the opening of the annual meeting of the members. In the event that no names are received for consideration by the committee, nominations may be made from the floor by active/in good standing members of the alumni at the annual meeting. Nominations received from the floor shall be accepted provisionally. The nominating committee shall determine if the person nominated is an eligible candidate. Election of a nominee from the floor shall not be considered complete until such time as the nominating committee has determined the eligibility of the nominee. A majority vote is required to secure election to an office.
