MMS Aviation

MMS Aviation Preparing people and planes for worldwide missionary service in Coshocton, Ohio.

MMS prepares aircraft for missions while training aircraft mechanics for mission service. Since 1975 MMS has provided an aircraft maintenance apprenticeship for those who wish to serve God through mission aviation. MMS also provides aircraft repair, overhaul and modification free of any labor charge to Christian missionary organizations. After successful completion of a thirty month training progr

am, the apprentice is prepared to take the examinations for the Federal Aviation Administration airframe and powerplant mechanic license. From the initial day of training an MMS apprentice aircraft mechanic is a productive member of the mission community. Mission aircraft are repaired, overhauled or modified by apprentices under supervision of licensed and qualified staff. An exciting aspect of the MMS ministry is the short term mission field assistance of the Rapid Response Teams. These MMS teams help reduce the "down time" of an aircraft by providing extra man power for major inspections and repairs. This also provides the MMS mechanic the opportunity to experience foreign mission aviation ministries first hand.

This team means a lot to us.

Once a month we gather as a family to fellowship and eat a meal together. At our last dinner we brought lots of lasagna, actually got to open the hangar doors while we ate, and throw bags of corn at each other (ahem we mean at corn-hole boards).

But it is so much more than fun games and pans of lasagna.

Being with the people you serve beside and looking out for them as brothers and sisters in Christ is what builds us up to keep going. It’s been proven that often times people are more effective when they know they are not alone.

Praise God for this team!

Would you pray for us today?
Prayer is a crucial part of how this ministry operates, and we would be so grateful for the words you speak to the Father on our behalf.

- Pray that we would stay focused on advancing the Kingdom of God.

- Pray for the work of our hands to be efficient.

- Pray that we will continue work well together as a team, supporting and encouraging each other.

- Pray for God to work through our hands as we get planes ready for service around the world.

- And pray for the people beyond the runway, the ones the planes will carry but ones we may never meet till eternity. Pray that they will have hearts ready to receive and share the life-changing news of JESUS!

Let me describe to you a place.

A place where you see beloved people - ones that when you said goodbye you had no idea if/when another “hello” would come.
A place with really good food - and more of it than you could possibly eat in one meal.
A place filled with the saints, singing “Glory, hallelujah” right along with the angels.
A place where gifts are given to reward the ones who have been good and faithful.
A place where God’s glory is what makes it beautiful….Does it sound like a place you’ve heard of before? It sounds like Heaven.

But you know what - God gave us a precious taste of what He has prepared when all of this is over.
Before the 50th Anniversary Celebration opened to the public, we hosted a homecoming dinner for all of those who have gone through the apprenticeship or have been apart of the team here at MMS in some capacity over the last 50 years. While Saturday and Sunday were spectacular and full of fun and celebration, Friday night filled us with joy and anticipation that at the end of this toil - what God has prepared will be even better. But how good of God to give us a little celebration along the way, because after all - we know He is faithful. And we celebrate it now just as we will do for the rest of our existence.
