Today is National Custodians Appreciation Day!

Meet Chris McVay, custodian at Coshocton Elementary School, who builds relationships with students every single day.

Chris interacts with so many students throughout the day, and he consistently models what respect looks like. Whether it’s saying “thank you,” “nice to meet you,” “nice to see you,” or simply “have a good day.”

Chris makes students feel seen, valued, and respected. And every now and then, he even gets a hug along the way!

Chris lives by a simple motto: “To get respect, you need to give respect.” He puts that belief into action every day through the way he treats our students and our school community.

We are thankful for Chris and all of our staff that truly take care of our buildings so that every student can learn and grow!
