Hands for Paws, Inc.

Hands for Paws, Inc. We are a 501c3 Non-Profit organization formed to help community and shelter cats. Hands for Paws was formally ReSales for Tails.

We closed our thrift store in July 2015. In January 2016 we formed a new group that will focus on raising money to care for homeless cats.

πŸ’” CLUB CRACKERS NEEDS US AGAIN. πŸ’”

He was doing SO well.

Club Crackers had grown from the tiny, critically injured baby we first met into a happy, handsome 1.5-pound little fighter. 🧑 He was finally scheduled to be neutered and have his little nub amputated.

Then, just THREE DAYS before surgery, his foster mom noticed something wasn't right.

His belly looked BIG. At first, it almost looked like he'd pigged out on everyone's food instead of just his own! But his eagle-eyed foster mom knew something had changed.

Unfortunately, it wasn't a food belly. πŸ’”

Club Crackers' abdomen was full of thick, sticky yellow fluid. Testing confirmed our fear:

Wet FIP.

Not long ago, FIP was considered an almost certain death sentence. Today, antiviral medication gives kittens like Crackers a chance to FIGHT β€” and WIN. πŸ™

But treatment isn't cheap.

His medication costs $250 PER BOTTLE β€” and believe it or not, that's down from $300–$350! Crackers will need a full 12-week course of antivirals, requiring at least 2 bottles, possibly 3.

That's $500–$750 for his medication alone, not including veterinary visits, testing, monitoring, and the surgery he will eventually still need.

But we have something BIG to be thankful for:

Crackers still feels GOOD! πŸ₯ΉπŸ§‘

He's happy. He's eating. He's still his sweet, silly little self. Thanks to his incredibly attentive foster mom, we caught this before he began showing the devastating symptoms FIP can cause.

We have a chance to fight β€” and after everything this baby has already survived, we're fighting with him.

πŸ™ Please donate toward Club Crackers' lifesaving treatment. $5, $10, $20 β€” every single donation gets him closer to his next bottle.

Can't donate? PLEASE SHARE.

He fought so hard to get here. Help us make sure FIP isn't where his story ends. πŸ§‘πŸ’”

33+ kittens in foster care at present. This is the time of year, when transport and adoptions slow down to a trickle, and we could be left feeding, housing and vetting these animals for weeks if not months.

We desperately need kitten food, both wet and dry. We would love for our kittens to have treats and toys and clean litter - but we cannot do without food!
If you can help with items on our Amazon or Chewy or other wish lists, our babies would greatly appreciate you.
