Our hearts and prayers are with everyone who knew and loved Becky. We are thinking of her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched during this difficult time.

It's with extremely heavy hearts that we announce Becky Burnett, our Pottery Studio Manager, unexpectedly passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2026.

Becky joined the UC Habitat staff in 2014 as an office manager but later began serving as our Pottery Studio Manager—though her spirit for service started way before 2014. Becky has been a shining light in the Cookeville community for decades, and it's no secret that she's been a driving force behind Cooking on the Square since the early 2000's.

Becky had the biggest heart for service and truly loved everyone she met. She was a woman defined by her love and faith in God, and she served countless people, families, and organizations in the Upper Cumberland, creating a lasting legacy that none of us will soon forget.

Please keep Becky's loved ones and our Habitat family in your thoughts and prayers as we all navigate this unimaginable loss.

Becky’s loved ones will receive family and friends this Saturday, November 7th at 12 p.m. at The River Community Church with a Celebration of Life to follow at 2 p.m.

It's honestly unreal to us that we get to be part of this again! We are SO grateful for our community and the incredible support you continue to show the Upper Cumberland Foster Closet. We never take it for granted!

WANTED: OUR VERY OWN FOSTER CLOSET LIBRARIAN! 📚

We will get back with everyone very soon!

We have so many wonderful books for our kiddos to take home and enjoy, but sometimes our shelves get a little disorganized, and those books don't get the attention they deserve. We would love to find someone who could come in once or twice a month to help organize our books and keep our little library looking inviting!
This is just a simple way to help children discover new stories and take home a book of their very own. 💙

🕒 Flexible scheduling! You can come during our regular open hours (Thursday 11-3 or Saturdays 10-1) or on a Tuesday or Wednesday. Tuesday/Wednesday availability sometimes changes, so just message us for those times.

It’s time to get signed up for our Christmas Extravaganza on December 4th at Cookeville Church of the Nazarene! 🎅🎁

We are so excited to celebrate the season with our foster and kinship families! We have lots of fun planned, and we want to make sure we’re prepared to make this a special evening for everyone.

7 Brew is hosting another Caffeine for a Cause, and this time we're headed to the Willow location in Cookeville!

These funds allow us to continue serving, supporting, and loving on foster and kinship families as they care for vulnerable children in our community. From clothing and shoes to diapers, essentials, and special events, and even emergency events like purchasing a car seat in the middle of the night, your generosity helps us be there when families need us most.

We are so incredibly thankful for 7 Brew and our community for continuing to show up for foster families. Let's make this another amazing weekend! 💙

💙 WE ARE OVERWHELMED WITH GRATITUDE! 💙

We honestly don’t even have the words! The Algood 7 Brew Caffeine for a Cause raised an incredible donation for the Upper Cumberland Foster Closet. We are literally still trying to wrap our minds around it! We are beyond thankful to the Algood 7 Brew team and every single person who showed up and gave generously to support foster families in our community. You have no idea how much this means to us!

And just when we thought our hearts couldn’t get any fuller… the 7 Brew location on Willow is hosting Caffeine for a Cause for the Foster Closet next week, too! We are blown away by this kindness and generosity!

These donations will help us continue to love on and support foster and kinship families as they navigate the beautiful, challenging, and sometimes overwhelming journey of caring for vulnerable children. Every dollar helps us provide the essentials, encouragement, and support these families need.

🎄HELP US MAKE CHRISTMAS EXTRA SPECIAL FOR FOSTER FAMILIES!🎄

Our Christmas Extravaganza is coming up on December 4th, and we need our amazing community to help make it special for the families we serve!

Here are a few ways you can help:

🎁 GIFT CARDS FOR PARENTS
Think restaurants, fast food, grocery stores, retail stores, beauty services, health and wellness, and other places where parents could treat themselves or their families. Remember when we asked what gift cards you would love to receive? Those are the kinds of gifts we want to give our foster parents! They spend so much time caring for others, and we want them to feel loved, too.

🎄 STOCKING STUFFERS FOR ALL AGES
We need small stocking-size items for children from birth through the teenage years! Think little toys, fun surprises, personal care items, and other small goodies that will bring a smile to their faces. This would be something from $5-$10.

🧺 FAMILY GIFT BASKETS
These are ALWAYS a favorite among our foster families! Our goal is to send each family home with a basket filled with goodies they can enjoy together. These baskets are such a special way to remind families that their community cares about them.

💙 MONETARY DONATIONS
Financial donations help us cover the cost of the event and purchase any items we still need to make the evening special.

We’re excited to share we received a $750 Spark Good local grant from our local Sparta Walmart. And another from Jamestown today!! This grant will help with our Christmas Extravaganza. We are proud to spark good in our community!
This year between Sam's, Sparta, Cookeville, Algood and Lafayette Walmart's, we have received $4,135. This is such a blessing for the families we serve! THANK YOU!
