Several HCS JROTC programs will be marching in the parade, along with a Joint Color Guard.

🇺🇸Come out and support our students as they represent their schools and community! 🇺🇸

Time is running out… Be sure to apply to be a part of Myrtle Beach's patriotic parade before May 8! ⬇️🇺🇸🇺🇸

Applications are open to register for this year’s “America 250: Red, White and Remember” parade on Saturday, May 23. The parade, formerly known as the Military Appreciation Days parade, celebrates patriotism, service and sacrifice.

Participants may walk, ride in a vehicle or golf cart or purchase a commercial float for $850. The fee includes all decorations, a driver, insurance coverage and the applicant’s name on both sides of the float. You can also just make your own float! High school marching bands are encouraged to participate. Any high school band marching in the parade will receive a $500 performance fee, mileage reimbursement up to 400 miles, potential competition winnings and lunch.

Cadets in Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (JROTC) programs across Horry County came together to host the first annual HCS JROTC Veterans Day Ceremony this past Saturday, November 8. Families and community members also came out for the event at Conway High’s football stadium, where Major General Jeff Jones, South Carolina’s Deputy Adjutant General, served as guest speaker. HCS honors those who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces, and we are proud to serve them, their families, and their students in our schools.

JOHN FRISBY WINS DEWS NMBHS CHIEFS WEEK 3 LEADERSHIP AWARD

A senior this year, John continues to shine as both a student leader and the newly appointed Commanding Officer of North Myrtle Beach High’s NJROTC program. John stands out in the classroom for his diligence, respect, and positive attitude, always prepared and willing to lend a helping hand to peers in need. His leadership extends far beyond the classroom. Over the summer, he guided cadets from multiple high schools as part of the Leadership Academy cadre at The Citadel, led basic leadership training at Parris Island, and commanded 50 cadets during NJROTC Mini Boot Camp—successfully welcoming 14 new freshmen into the program.

Bright, hardworking, and compassionate, John Frisby exemplifies the qualities of a leader with a promising future ahead.

Congratulations to John Frisby, this week 3’s winner of the NMB Chiefs Leadership award, sponsored by DEWS.
